Meh, Melbourne over Sydney. Sydney has the obvious tourist traps, the Opera House, Bridge and Tower, that's pretty much it. Melbourne has loads of museums, parks and other attractions. Eureka Tower as it's observation deck offering. The many sports venues in the city, it's theatre culture, markets, food culture, shopping culture and so forth. Sydney is just too overpriced, looks aren't everything, it's what you can actually do when you stay that matters.

Berlin isn’t beautiful, it’s just interesting. I’d rather put Hamburg, Lübeck or Heidelberg in there. All of these are very interesting city (Lübeck is probably the least known of these three cities, the video producers might don’t even know the city), have a great nightlife (especially Hamburg!!!) and are very beautiful cities!

That's quite a simple generalization. I lived in Paris several times in french families to learn the language. There are rude people and there are polite people just like everywhere. But when I see American tourists, sitting in a french café and shouting loudly in the worst American english possible for more food, I don't blame the french for being not that polite ;) Also I wonder why "being clean" always is so important for you guys. Perfectly clean cities usually are the most boring cities. My home Berlin is not clean, but it's alive. It sparkles with culture and ideas, art and music. Those things don't grow on a antiseptic ground. I lived many years in Switzerland - and know what perfectly clean means :) *yawn*

Dubai is sort of an artifact city, just like Las Vegas. The strong point of the city is actually to be a modern city in a desert, not really much (IMHO). In that respect Tokyo and Shangai work better, they at least have a story that enhance the value of the city.

I'm from Vienna, and I wouldn't want to live anyhere else. We have tons of cultural offerings, great cuisine, one of the highest standards of living in the world and some very nice landscapes for an inland city in a landlocked country. If we had sea access it would be pretty much perfect. I've also been to Reykjavik a couple of times. It's much smaller but very pleasant. Some nice bars, pubs and cafes, and a great scenery. In the summer months I encountered a surprisingly mild climate. Food's nice but quite expensive.

What I think I miss the most is just how genuine the locals are. In America nobody ever helps anyone. If you walk down the streets of New York, for example, and you are lost and you ask someone for help they just walk past you and don't even recognize your existence. It's not like that over there. Also if you walk into a high dollar store the workers will just blow you off (I've gone pretty woman a time or two). Also just the culture and the food. Nothing better than that. YOLO swag if you take Line 3 on the metro and get off on Jinshajiang road that is where I lived. It is a great neighborhood full of genuine souls and also right next to global harbor and ECNU.
