Top 10 of the Silliest Boss Fights in WoW

Күн бұрынIn this video we're going to get a bit silly. WoW has thousands of bosses from dungeons and raids, and today we’ll be taking a look at some of the more absurd encounters in the game. While most bosses are usually pretty serious and somber and usually have their own complicated lore associated with them, occasionally one does run into some bosses where the devs just had some fun. Many bosses have some pretty funny and unique dialogue, but we’ll be focusing on bosses with silly mechanics or gimmicks, so bosses that include the likes of the magical mayhem of the Manastorms are unfortunately not going to be included on the list, since their antics are mostly dialogue rather than any actual gameplay.

@hiruma, it's worth noting that you don't kill the Council of Dreams, they are flagged as Unconscious when you click on them after beating them, instead of the traditional Dead.

He mentioned that he wouldn’t include funny dialogue ones. Hans n Franz’s mechanics are actually not funny at all, they’re incredibly brutal.

Waycrest is also hilarious when you're going through as Horde - as the NPCs comment on it. Your being there makes no sense and the dungeon never pretends that it does. "It doesn't matter who they are!!" "I suppose homes not made of mud and sticks are novel where you come from." etc

The Council of Dreams aren't killed, after interrupting their bonds, they simply fall unconscious. The same cannot be said for Nymue, however, we simply merc that tree-person.

I hope Nymue's death isn't forgotten when the titans return, since they were out there specifically by Eonar and Freya. It has to have some consequence

The funniest part of Stormstout Brewery is the commentary from the spirits. “You, yea you. Those are OUR flying beer monsters.” 😂

I think an honorable mention should go to Phalanx in BRD, since in order to fight him you have to cause a bar fight or a disturbance in the bar. Probably one of the earliest silly things for a boss fight.

My favourite about the Stormstout Brewery are those 2 npcs that comments about our group just before the last boss Some of them being- "That last paladin offered me eternal salvation." "Oh really, what'd you say?" "Kings, please" "I think that Druid has the hots for me." "Why didn't that mage put intellect on his weapon?" "Because he didn't want his weapon to be smarter than he is!" xD there's a whole lot of them

For people that might wanna see more jokes like these, there is also an npc in each faction's shrine in pandaria who tells terrible puns. At the horde shrine it's a pandaren named Uncle Gus, and at the alliance shrine it's a jinyu (the fish people) named Kuru the light-hearted.

The council in Amerdrissil doesn't die. After you beat them, they are tagged "unconscious" Also, silliest boss to me will always be "The Butcher" from Highmaul in WoD. The line "Give it to me raw and wiggly" is forever engraved into my brain

My favorite part about Stormstout Brewery is Uncle Gao's dialogue during/after the Yan-Zhu fight. His insistence to craft a great ale is just sooooooooo unbelievably funny, especially since he's the one empowering Yan-Zhu by mixing ingredients together.

One boss I found fun and "silly" (at least mechanically) is Tred'ova from Mists of Tirna Scithe It had two noteworthy mechanics for this: The mind control (which early on had a bug making it so if you were Necrolord it would sometimes cast your Covenant hearthstone spell and straight up teleport you out of the dungeon. And while not intentional, mind controlling a player to teleport them to their inn has to be the most creative way a boss has ever defeated a player in WoW), secondly and what makes me like it is the boss's bombardment ability. On the first cast it simply tries to throw the bomb under you and you have to move away. But then on the second cast the boss remembers how you dodged it and throws a second projectile in the direction you ran off to (then for each cast it will throw 1 additional one, remembering where you ran the last time).

Great list! Stormstout Brewery was the very first Heroic dungeon I did when I came into my own as a second-generation WoW player during my middle school days. The Wort Stirring Rod I got that day has been kept in my retail warlock's void storage to this very day as the first of many staves that I used on her to come from a boss fight of some kind (or the Timeless Isle staff that replaced it.) I always loved that it had a twitching eye in it.

The funniest part of Stormstout Brewery is "Me gonna ook you in the dooker!" That line is still in the game today even after they removed a lot of stuff a couple years ago.

No Cata Deadmines Cookie? I think that's a pretty silly one; both on a meta-sense (him being promoted from a semi-secret optional boss to the final boss in the non-heroic version) and lore sense (going from the cook to the captain). Plus his fight involves him hopping in a pot and throwing food at people. The mechanic where you eat the good food for a haste buff is really fun as well I think, since getting insanely fast castings is just one of those mechanics where its a power trip.

Council of Dreams doesn't share a health pool, btw. They are separate and all need to be defeated within a short amount of time.

I always really love the chess event. It was so memorable for me. I love the music in Karazhan too. Medivh's voice always echoed in my head when he cheats, loved it!

Good ol' Stormstout Brewery. Loved riding the caskets. Last boss was made easy by just stacking behind a pillar though.

A silly suggestion: top 10 redundant items Items that you have to farm or get rep for items that have counterparts that are easier to get, some mounts might also apply since there's lot of recolors

Putricide is mostly dialect so doesn't fit the criteria and the others are rather straightforward fights.

@hirumaredx There is one thing I can´t quite put my finger on. Listening to the end dialogue of Doragosa the voice of Prof. Weasley from Hogwarts Legacy came to my mind. Her Name is Lesley Nicol but there is no IMDB credit for her on voicing Doragosa and the wowhead site for the dragon has voice actress to it :( Any help finding the aswer in this rabbit hole?

I'm confused on how during the last mention, you're fighting level 82 mobs, with a Zandalari druid, but also have the hearthstone from Amirdrassil. My brain has broken, and I'm so baffled on what is going on in that last mention. It gets worse the longer you look at it. xD Regardless, amazing list. I definitely agree.

The Amirsrassil hearthstone shares an icon with the Fire Eater Hearthstone. I think this is just an old leveling clip from BFA

Well, nice list, but there was no mention of any bosses in Firelands 4.2 raid, both Alysrazor, where you need to fly to dmg him down and collect circles in a meantime is very weird by itself, on top of several hatchlings that need to be aggroes by tanks and killed by tanks , with high enough dmg, otherwise more hatchlings will spawn and its almost impossible to tank 2 hatchlings at the same time. But the sillier bossfight in FL is a great giant, that you need throughout most of the fight control, so he doesnt get to lava pool, drink it and wipe your whole raid, while you can only dmg his legs (that how you control him) and on top of that you need to control him, so that his legs will run over a small volcanoes that increase his dmg taken :D

Hey, love the videos and watch just about all of your channels even back from the pet battles channel. I do have a question, though. I know you have a team that helps put the videos together but I do not know if you have someone writing scripts or if that is a part you do yourself. I am only curious because the language and writing in this video feels a lot different than previous videos on the channel. I don't know if you got a new scriptwriter or if the scriptwriter pulled out a thesaurus or used some ai tool but unless I'm crazy or missed something, which is very possible the style does seem different. Either way wish you nothing but the best.

You don't actually kill the Council of Dreams. When the fight is over and you click on them, it'll tell you that they're "hibernating."

Can't believe you left out Mana Devourer in Return to Kara. Fighting what should be a low level mob but boosted to boss status because we're tiny, my favorite fight of the entire dungeon.

Elya Azuremoon found in Narthalas Academy in Azsuna in Legion, also has a similar theme to Doragosa, she casts, Extra homework which is a 5 second stun,Detention which roots you in place and causes a small amount of damage,Expelled! which knocks you back lol,Harsh Lessons which slows you down and silences you,and lastly Strict Discipline causes some arcane damage, shes quite the harsh school teacher, sure to cause some trauma to her students, squeal in anguish when you get extra homework nooooooo teacher nooooo!

Oh god you mentioned Blackrock foundry that place has traumatized me for the following reason: when I was going into it, it caused me to become STUCK in Gorgond and had to ask blizzard to unstuck me because: Hearthstone didn't work, you couldn't hit enemies because it'd cause you to d/c going out of borders of Gorgond caused once again d/c and other things such as portals dungeon summonings and the sorts caused d/c it was so annoying! 😡

Firefighter was the bane of my guild when it was current content. After 10-man we all needed a break from fire for a while and put off practicing for 25-man for probably 4 months, though we did get it in the end. I haven't done it since then and doubt I ever will. Not because it's hard now, but because it still gives me an eye twitch.

In 2024 this list would include Nymue and the Council of Dreams boss fights from Amirdrassil; Nymue based on the meme "Touch grass", and Council based on "Go Duck Yourself"

Surprised you didn't add Blackheart the Inciter with his "TIME FOR FUN", MCing the whole party to beat each other. Another twin ogre O'mrogg in Shattered Halls is also great for the aggro drop where he just bee lines for someone based on some janky criteria lol.

They turn you into ducks in the Council of Dreams raid because of Platinumwow. In his Thunderking video years before he had Lei Shen asking where we're all the ducks when asking the secrets of Azeroth and why the titans abandoned them. At that time there wasn't a single ducks variation in the entire game. No mounts, no creatures, no critters, no pets. In one of the post announcements for the expansion, Blizzard specifically said they would add ducks. IIRC the following year they would hire him to do official WotLK lore videos.

Actually the Council of Dreams aren’t dead. After you finish the fight their bodies say (unconscious) not dead. So we just knocked them out.

While mimeron *is* great; XT-002, to me at least, whats a whole hell of a lot funnier; i still remember my total "WTF" expression when I first heard, "New toys? I Promise I won't break them!" came across my headset; took my guild an extra pull and a half or so because we couldnt focus on not giggling for the temper tantrums and other child-like quotes from this very large and supposedly intimidating contruct

Kael from Tempest Keep was a good one too. Probably the first boss in WoW ever to make you flight in mid air and give you temporary legendries.

You DO NOT kill the counsil of dreams, after the fight, if you target them, you can read that they are "unconscious"

mimiron triggers me, not just because the hard mode was hard as hell but because I farmed his head mount and took me close to 300 attempts.
