Let me know when you’d like to go the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam. I work there, so it’s easier to arrange something for you. The Rijksmuseum is the national museum of the Netherlands. A literal translation of the name means: Museum of the Realm. We tell the story of 800 years of Dutch history, from 1200 to now. In addition, we organize several exhibitions per year from our own collection and with (inter) national loans.

OMG, how lucky you are working in such a beautiful place. I could see me easily spending days on end in this wonderful museum... it's been on my bucket list for a long time... one day, I'll go for sure.

PS , Van Gogh was not only known for his paintings , but also for his big heart he used to be a minister like his father , and got in trouble with the church as he gave away money to the poor . when he was stationed in a belgian mining village , He was called the christ of coal miners . He slept on the floor as a coalminer and shared his measly amount of food with the others. He even gave his stately home ( made available by the church and local town ) with that of a sickly woman witch children so she could recover . He was well loved by the population . but excumunicated by the church as he gave money away , and used church property to help others . By definition he was what a good person should be , how the church should have been . and actively practicicing the 7 works of mercy there is actualy a painting of these works in the Rijks museum . Master of Alkmaar, The Seven Works of Mercy, ca. 1504, polyptych (Amsterdam, Rijksmuseum) To feed the hungry. To give water to the thirsty. To clothe the naked. To shelter the homeless. To visit the sick. To visit the imprisoned, or ransom the captive. To bury the dead. Spiritual To instruct the ignorant. To counsel the doubtful. To admonish the sinners. To bear patiently those who wrong us. To forgive offenses. To comfort the afflicted. To pray for the living and the dead

We have a King and a Queen, they have 3 daughters. Willem Alexander, our King, still flies Boeings to keep his flight hours up... with KLM Royal Dutch Airlines. We have many palaces that have tours.

En wat heeft dat met een rioolstad als Amsterdam te maken?

A place I would visit in Amsterdam is the Albert Cuyp Market. It is the largest street market in Europe. It has lots of cool things to find. And if you like stroopwafels. Just wait untill you smell the freshly baked ones. There are a lot of great Pubs in that area too. I am sorry to say it. But Dam Square is kind of overrated in that video... It doesn't always have a ferris wheel, but there can be a funfair. Then there is more than a ferris wheel. There may also be a Christmas market at that time of the year. As for Anne Frank video's I can recommend Anne Franks video diary. It is like, what if she was a vlogger with a modern camera. The video's are in Dutch, but there are subtitles. Cheers!

The reason you can tour the palace in Amsterdam is because the King and his family doesn't live there. They actually live at "Huis ten Bosch in a forest (bos in Dutch) in The Hague (Den Haag).

Quick introduction to the Dutch royal family and present line of succession: King Willem-Alexander (present monarch) Queen Máxima (wife of present monarch - from Argentina) Princes Amalia (1e in line of succession - daughter to Willem-Alexander) Princes Alexia (2e in line of succession - daughter to Willem-Alexander) Princes Ariane (3e in line of succession - daughter to Willem-Alexander) Prince Constantijn (4e in line of succession - brother to Willem-Alexander) Countess Eloise (5e in line of succession - daughter to Constantijn) Count Claus-Casimir (6e in line of succession - son to Constantijn) Countess Leonore (7e in line of succession - daughter to Constantijn) Princes Margriet (8e in line of succession - sister to Beatrix) Princes Beatrix (previous monarch - mother to Willem-Alexander) There are more members of the royal family but at the moment not listed in line of succession. Succession is by bloodline like most monarchies. And Princes Amalia is allowed to have a same-sex marriage if she wants to by law. Officially it is not know if the princesses are dating. That is at the moment considered private.

During sertain times of the year you can actually tour Buckingham Palace in London. 6:21 I visited there last summer when the royal family was on holiday in Scotland. You are not allowed to film or make photos unfortunately.

Fun little fact the wooden hatches infront of the windows are storm doors . when heavy winds are expected / storms or having cold winters people would close them to protect the windows , and give more insulations to the cold in winter . The bed you saw in a closet is a bedstee , A bed build in to wall with doors 1 to keep your self warm as its a mini bedroom and 2 it saves tons of space , one of the reasons it was possible to have many children in a quite small houses , as you could have had several of these beds in the walls .

For all tourists visiting the Netherlands, stop seeing Amsterdam as the Netherlands. There are more beautiful things to see outside that stupid city of Amsterdam.
