Hi from France 🇫🇷 There´s a lot of regions in France with différents specifics like my region : Bourgogne (Burgundy) with typical houses, the city of Beaune (check the Beaune’s hospices), etc. Because France has a long history, with many kings and emperors, very different climates depending on the region, because it is bordered by several seas, it makes France beautiful 😍 See the magnificent castles of the Loire for example. Not to mention French cuisine: each region has a special gastronomy, rooted in tradition and typical agriculture because of its landscapes I wish you to come and discover my country and think outside the box, there is more to see than Paris

As someone from Alsace I can only agree, cities like Strasbourg and Saverne have awesome places for tourism. Having lived in Saverne for a while I love that city , several castles around including one that has been transformed into a primary school + museums + cinema theater (looks the same from outside only the inside has been changed)

I live in France and it's true that we have a lot of beautiful places here. I live in Toulouse, south west of France, not far from Carcassonne that you've seen in the video but Toulouse is a bigger city, called the "pink city" because of the color of the brick (it's actually more red than pink). Toulouse is known to be the city of aeronautics because we have Airbus here but there's so much to see! Did you guys ever been to France? If so, where?

Often forgotten jewel of France, look for the Dordogne valley (Rocamadour, Sarlat...). You'd also probably be surprised to discover the landscapes of Cantal, Auvergne, Lozère, Vercors... they basically look like Middle-Earth in France :)

Annecy is really beautiful city near the Alps. Mont Blanc's view by the "l'Aguille du midi" or "Pic du midi" it's gorgeous to see it. I love my country. So many different environnement and style. I visited "Mont St Michel" by the beach but need to walk fast because the sea up really fast loool 10:40 , The Dune of Pyla , amazing place.

This video could be multiplied by 5 or 6 and you still wouldn't account for everything there is to see in France. :-) People in France don't fully grasp how special their country is. Nice reaction. I hope you get to visit one day 🙂

You'd rather come and choose 10 other places in between the ones discribed on this video and still be happy to visit France. You just have to travel a few miles like 50 for example and have the feeling of a new country folks behave different, houses look different, landscape has another shape.

Most people think France is just Paris but there are so much to see. To be french, there are the big cities like Paris, Marseille, Nice, Lyon, the great attraction Disneyland, Mont Saint Michel, les châteaux de la Loire... France is a patrimonal country with a great history, an incredible gastronomy, cultures, sports and much more. If people come in France, they must see Paris obviously but the surroundings too...

If you visit France one day and get out of Paris, don't forget prehistoric caves. Lascaux (21 000 years BC), Cosquer (27 000 to 19 000 years BC) and Chauvet (37 000 to 28 000 years BC) are the most famous but you can only visit (nice) replicas. However, many others exist and for some you get to see the real deal, the place were people lived ten of thousands years ago.

You speak about old monument, and megalitic stones (menhir and dolmen) are about -7000 BC to -1000 BC (neolithic and bronze age). But if you want very old stuff, i advise you to go see the cave of Lascaux (~12000 BC) or, way more older, the cave of Chauvet, at least -30000 BC and probably more. It's today the oldest human cave found (but they are certainly other in the world)

And he didn't mention most palaces/castles. For example just google image "chambord castle" if you want to have an idea of what to expect in the Loire Valley (another touristic region, in the center of France, full of palaces).

To your comment : " all the houses are packed in" ... before cars, peoples had to go to work, shops, schools, everything, by foot. And there were no fridges to keep food for 1-2 weeks, so you had to be close to everything. I was raised in a typical north-american suburb build in the 60's, and before I had my driver's license, it took a 20 minutes walk just to get a pint of milk, and 20 other minutes to get back home. It's ridiculous how 1000 years settlements were often more convenient than modern ones.

Good but missing so many more places! Le Périgord, les gorges du Tarn, les châteaux de la Loire, Pont de miliau, corde sur ciel so many beautifull villages, castles, landscape, mountains, architectures ... and don't forget l'anjou et Angers to experienced "la douceur Angevine".

I have visited all the places you have seen in this video and much more, the sand expanse pictured is "The dune of Pyla": almost 100 meters high (300 feet ) to climb it, you have to have the shape . Well, I live in France. It’s also simpler.

Have you told about Conques ???? It's a village in Aveyron department (equivalent to a US county) witch made you travel throught time to medival. This village was (and still) a step to Compostelle pilgrimage. Aveyron is place to see so diverse are his landscapes.

It has come to such a point that the inhabitants are moving from their homes, the tourist office has received instructions from the town hall to no longer display photos of the cliffs, to tell you where it is . I think there is a bit the same problem for the cliffs and creeks of Cassis near Marseille. That's all, sorry for the long message. 😁

Et le jardin de la fontaine qui est pas mal aussi. Par contre les drones ne sont pas légaux. Une demande d'autorisation doit etre faites dans chaque lieux. :p

I suggest you also look at the callanques near Marseille as well as the videos made by drones. You will be surprised. This city is not much loved yet it is one of the most picturesque of France especially thanks to its 2600 years of history ;) For the small anecdote, Marseille has forts of defense which are not there to protect the marseillais but to defend France of the marseillais.

1:39 "Aiguille du Midi" 3842m (french Alps)by ropeway ,not to be confused with the "pic du midi" (in the Pyrenees) 2877m high (an observatory is at the top, a ropeway allows you to go there) for Pic du midi, originally, there was a long and steep path which was used to supply the weather stations. To enlarge the sites, we built a "mini ropeway" (not at all up to current safety standards ^^) to transport the materials of the buildings and the parts of the current Ropeway(in the 50/60's). For "Aiguille du Midi" It takes two ropeways to climb from chamonix to the summit. The first starts from Chamonix (1008m) at the "Plan de l'Aiguille" (2317m), which offers a breathtaking view of the aiguille du midi.. the first pylon in descent in particular , marks a sharp change in slope, among the steepest for a cable car, hence a slight airtime when standing, similar to that of an attraction or a fast lift. The second is without pylons and arrives below the structure (3777m). people prone to vertigo, do not look. The vacuum under the cabin exceeds 700 m in some places. In the needle, tunnels are drilled in the mountains to reach the 3842m summit. Try it!

another French here, that's nice :) My personal favorite places not mentioned here : The stunning Cirque de Gavarnie (Pyrénées mountains) depicted by Victor Hugo as "the most mysterious work from the great architect, the Colosseum of Nature". While near Gavarnie, you should visit Lourdes, the world's most visited catholic pilgrimmage sanctuary and its beautiful basilica of the Rosary. Bordeaux's region wine villages tour including the wonderful village and famous red wine "Saint Émilion", and while in the region go see the huge Dune du Pilat on the atlantic coast. South western Basque coast including pretty cities like Saint-Jean-de-Luz and in the Basque countryside are some amazing villages like Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port, Ainoa or Espelette. The city of Albi and its unique massive cathedral made of red bricks, which also has an exceptional interior. In the center of France is the beautiful natural parc of the Auvergne volcanos. Finally I have to mention the castles of the Loire river - Chateaux de la Loire (many gorgeous castles all standing in a quite little area; which are the hight of the Renaissance times) which absolutely not even need to be mentioned, so famous and splendid they are! and there are many, many more beautiful places but I'm not familiar that much with the north and east/south east of the country. bonne journée!

super vidéo, il manque pour moi le pays basque, les volcans d'Auvergne, la région du Nord, pour la French Riviera et Paris ne devrait pas être dans le classement , à la place, il faut montrer Lyon avec la gastronomie, il montre la dune du Pyla sans le dire (la plus grande dune d'Europe). Il manque les châteaux de la Loire, ... ils auraient pu rajouter la Corse aussi
