I was once an international student from China😉but now in Australia! Proud to say I stayed in Sheffield over on year, I visited most places mentioned in the clip! However, my favourite one is Cholera monument park, where you can have a fantastic view of the whole city! Miss Sheffield, miss the U.K. , miss the culture of the U.K. Wish one day I could go visit again! ❤❤

If you wonderee why there is a thing for metal ( you probably didn't ) back in the day Sheffield was known as the steel city because most of the UK's cutlery was made their. Also another small thing is bramall lane which is the city's football stadium and has hosted a few games of the recent women's euros

The reason why Sheffield made cutlery for the world is because they are the founders of stainless steel. The first ever bar of stainless steel was made in Sheffield. And no one wants to eat with a rusty knife and fork. So that's why Sheffield stainless steel became worldwide.

I have to laugh whenever I see or read these guides of Sheffield. They always seem to start off with . . . 'Sheffield, England's 4th largest city' or the 'UK's 5th largest city. This may well be the case ''statistically'' but in reality it certainly is not. UK city boundaries are very arbitrary and differ from region to region. In fact Yorkshire cities are notorious for exaggerating their size/population. Sheffield's city boundary includes nearly half of the Peak District. Leeds and Bradford are even worse. Leeds includes towns miles away such as Wetherby and Otley within its city limits. Bradford includes places like Keighley, Ilkley and Silsden. All of which are a considerable distance from Bradford and separated by miles of green belt! It really is a joke. Conversely, Manchester's boundary only includes a fraction of it's contiguous urban area. Similarly Liverpool's and Glasgow's boundaries are drawn very tight. Put it this way, if I was unfamiliar with this country and was randomly dumped in Sheffield city centre and told I was in England's 4th largest city, then I would be left feeling very underwhelmed and disappointed. To conclude Sheffield in 'real terms' is probably about 7th largest in England and 8th in the UK behind London, Birmingham, Manchester, Glasgow, Liverpool, Leeds and Bristol. Sorry for the rant, I just find such statements very misleading.

I don't think you can blame individual cities for their size because the concervative government reorganised city and county boundaries in 1974, (cities are growing all the time otherwise we'd all live in villages) apparently the best way to find out what if any city you belong to just check who you pay your council tax to 🙂

Don’t bother taking your car because there’s nowhere to park don’t bother doing shopping as the shops are declining and closing down Sheffield Council only care about the students weird horrible flats everywhere mix-and-match buildings oh and if you’re really lucky you might see those awful shipping containers

Don't bother bringing your car because you will smash it to bits on the pot holes! The roads resurfaced by AMEY are already breaking up and being patched. The money got milked and ran out so roads that badly needed resurfacing got abandoned, try driving on Chippinghouse rd and Crescent rd. Coming back from Scarborough Christmas day (the M1, A1M and A64 in particular are like billiard tables) I had to swerve a massive pothole in the newly built, not just resurfaced, newly built, Sheffield Parkway! How long has that took to mess with again? The gateway, main rd into the city, it's a disgrace.

@@richardburns5925the Sheffield parkway is currently being rebuilt right now with abt £150 million cash, so shouldnt be a problem anymore once finished.

Lots of crime there isn't there? My friend got stabbed to death there earlier this year.lots of hostilities in certain areas,lots of gangs.

One of the safer cities in the UK - try looking at Liverpool, Manchester, London for crime stats if that’s your thing.

Not really. You friend must have been involved in the gangs or here to sell drugs or something dodgy because i lived in the rpughest neighbouroods in Sheffield for years, in neighbourhoods with the most violence, but only ever saw those who rhemselves carry knives or guns, sell drugs or those that get involved with those people ever get stabbed or shot, nd if you're not involved in it then you have to be a one in the 560,000 people in the citie/unluckiest person in the city to get caught up in that shit... becaue unless you go running ur mouth then your fine and dont see any trouble.. same as anywhere else..
