That's why I love my country: volcanic landscape, crystal clear sea with characteristic coasts in the south, breathtaking lakes and mountains in the north, hills and woods in the center, medieval towns and Renaissance cities, Greek, Roman and Etruscan archaeological sites ... but above all a lot of diversity and culture: the cuisine, the people and the appearance of the places change from north to south, from east to west. 🇮🇹❤️

I was born and raised in America, same as my parents. I’ve been learning more about my family and where I’m from. Turns out, this is where my grandmother is from!! It’s very nice being able to see more of where we come from. My grandma is an amazing person so I’m glad I feel more connected.

Absolutely, you should be proud of Italy, it’s full of history and unique architectures from Roman empires which inspired me to travel the grand tour of Italy started from Lake Como, down to Venice, Florence, Ferrara , Assisi, Pompeii, Sorento peninsular ended in Rome. Such a wonderful memories.

You are really seeing the Western Mediterranean in detail this year. I've only seen the east side of the island, mainly Catania and Syracuse. To me, Mt. Etna looks like everyone's idea of what a volcano should look like - just perfect.

@@RyanShirley Not this year. This year is U.S. and Canada only. It's still a little up and down out there. My friend and his wife went to see Portugal and Spain. Tested clear before leaving, all vaccinated and boostered, too. They had Covid somehow when they arrived in Lisbon and spent two weeks in a hotel room. and then flew back.

Would it be easy to see all of these places without a car? On public transport perhaps. Me and my partner are thinking of visiting Sicily for maybe a week to 10 days in the next year or two. Thanks

@@BrokenFairytalexo no, it's very difficult, a lot of places haven't a station train. The best solution Is rent a car, more freedom and relax, it isn't too expensive. I live in sicily, western sicily, near 'Scopello'.

I was born and live in Sicily and, even though you're right that there are a lot more places worth visiting, you definitely missed one of the most beatiful towns in the island: Noto. The baroque architecture there is just incredible and I'm sure you would have been stunned by it, be sure to go there next time you come here ;)

I am looking to relocate to Sicily. My fathers family was originally from Carini, Sicily. Are there any towns you recommend. I am looking to live a very peacefully life. Away from the main tourist spots.

@@josephinevera9966 Hi, sorry to be late but I just saw your comment. Carini is a nice town but, being near Palermo and by the sea, it may be a bit chaotic, especially in the summer. If you want a peaceful place to live I suggest to look for a town in the inland, for example monti Sicani, the area where I live (my town is Bivona), even though there are other issues here, like the lack of public transportation and not so good roads. On the other hand houses are very cheap, you can eat a lot of locally produced genuine food and you're surrounded by nature.

Oh goodness, Sicily is so beautiful! I have always seen Amalfi but not as much Sicily so I'm putting this next on my list for traveling soon. My husband is from Marsala, so you should definitely go there and try proper Marsala wine, see the Salt Pans on the road to Trapani, see Erice!

I would really appreciate if you could make a video of Sri Lanka 🇱🇰. There are so many beautiful places to visit with nice historical stories. Starting from the sea views upto the mountains. The weather is also good and warm.🌞

Hey Fran! That’s a tough one, I really love the Greek islands, especially places like Zakynthos and Milos. I also love Mallorca and Ibiza.

We were thinking a lot about Corfu and the Ionian Islands -- Zakynthos is in that area! We will have about two weeks including travel from NY/NJ area. Just got back from a 3 week visit of Sicily. Hit almost all the places mentioned. Did more of a wine 🍷 tour. The food was amazing. Eat n drank way way to much.

@@RyanShirley cool approach, its always nice to to leave some room for exploring and getting a feel for adventures along the way man .by the way would be cool if you make a video on the process and tools you use to plan a trip and what's your thought proses of creating the videos as well as travel plan .could give you a more personal connection with the viewers

After flying into Palermo’s airport, I’ll be taking the train to Capo d’Orlando, rent a car to Naso, back to Capo for some time and then the train to Taormina and then Syracusa. That’s just for starters. Then there’s Pompeii, Bologna and Milan.

Palermo is a fairly rough chaotic loud place, you need to check the bill there as most places always try and overcharge you thinking you won't check the bill and there are many places that do not list. Catania, Syracuse and the east is much nicer!

After spending a quiet week on the island of Ustica, lots of diving in summer, we rode the ferry back to Palermo. Sat outdoors that night at a restaurant and the noise and motorcycles nearly drove me nuts. My least favorite town or city in all of Sicily.
