What is up all you Pokémon maniacs out there! PikiPikaPapa is here taking a look at the top 10 Pokemon singles by sales volume at TCG Player for the month of May. These are the types of videos and data sets that I absolutely LOVE!!! Even though this is a bit of a rearview mirror look the trends and top 10 Pokemon singles on this list are incredibly relevant for us to be aware of! What's even more exciting is that since we look at these top 10 Pokemon singles every month we can start to notice trends and patterns which can give us a leg up in the investing and collecting world!!

That's what I was wondering... we've done these lists for a long time and usually when we see things disappear it at least signals a "cooling" if you will! Awesome call out!!

Oh gosh that's crazy!! They aren't a particularly low Gem Rate card and CZ has a ton of grading volume so that will keep pressure on the card... but my goodness is it stunning or what!?!?!

It's a pretty cool view... I'll give you a sneak that it's almost exclusively game play cards. Still a cool view but not a lot of investing nuggets in there :)

Okay I have to scream it from the top of the mountain! I pulled the iron crown ex and it was a very clean copy. That card is rediculously beautiful in person.

Hey love the sats! But I’m kinda confused with the overall take away here. Soo these singles that are seeing the most volume but steady/slow uptrend could possibly pump? Kind of like staring at a chart that has high volume with constricting price action that leads to a breakout to the upside? Sorry I’m just trying to read between the lines of these stats

So we've been doing this video series for 16 months now and while in the grand scheme of things that's too narrow of a time period for true trends (especially considering that's the end of SW&SH and the beginning of S&V which are 2 totally different markets) but we've been able to get a bit ahead of the curve by identifying cards that hit a level of trading volume at TCGPlayer while also displaying a support line at current valuations. At times this has indicated a breakout was about to take place. We've also noticed that when a card or type of card disappears from the list that could indicate a slow down in growth or the beginning of a correction. Our consistency in doing this every month is what makes the list impactful and its been a really cool tool!! Awesome question my friend and I hope I gave some context!!

Hey mate, We scrape pricing data multiple times per day for pkm and mtg finance, across multiple platforms. Its not used for content, we just use it as vendors for pricing algorithms and track data points to find the best buy window. If you see this, let me know if you want more information :)

I agree with the mewtwo vstar. To me it makes no sense that it’s so low. If you asked what would make a sick alt art it would be a pokemon battle depicted. When you think of a notable pokemon battle, charizard vs mewtwo is like all time the best you could wish for beside maybe rayquaza vs deoxys. Weird that it isn’t more valuable already.

Historically have the reprints been lower or equal to first print volume? Do we have stats on the inventory percentage increase post reprint?

In the SW&SH era the quality was consistent BUT the SW&SH ear had much higher print quality to start vs what we saw at the beginning of S&V. Since print quality has improved in the most recent S&V sets I have a working theory that if we see a "reprint" and the quality improves it's a true reprint however if the quality remains the same it's simply a restock. I'm excited to test my theory!!

I think the trainers were really popping off due to the trainer gallery alts giving them a boost. With no gallery it’s kinda hidden in the background again.
