Would also include the Finnish political thriller "Occupied". And the recent program "The Diplomat"- don't miss it! TWW is still the all time best show in this genre and after 20 years is still setting the standard for excellent writing and ensemble cast.

Scandal and Madam Secretary are the most incredible political-lobbying-strategic-diplomatic shows on tv. Definitely a must watch. Bravo for #1 West Wing is a classic.

Of the movies on this list the american "house of cards" should be no 1. The best series are series where you get to know the complexity of the characters better over time. The korean "Crash landing on you" could be added, a sentimental romantic slow progressing story (to much flash repeating and slow motion crying), but speed up the streamer and you will discover a great story about people being people even though they live inside countries with different political systems. The french series "Le bureau" is also great (except some unattractive sex scenes during season 5) The end of the Le bureau is brilliant and give the whole series meaning!
