Me too . I think it works very well. Of course you have to get used to it but once you do you can fly very precise witth it.

Hi Jack, It's great seeing you reviewing the Avata 2, and agree with all the reported problems. If I understand well, the RC FPV 3 works only at 2.4 GHz, not 5.8 GHz, unlike the previous generation. Is this a limitation?

It is compatible. Couple videos out there on it. But it makes the screen black on the RC2 so you have to have the goggles on to see what the drone sees @@HalfChrome

Its totalln NON DIY. I crashed mine and the airframe got bent, i thought about replacing it or at least take the propeller guards appart and fix them but its totally non replacable. Unlike on the Avata 1. 😔

No disrespect but it sounds like you're happier flying "true" FPV, and if that's the case that's fine. Personally, I have no desire to learn every single component of an FPV drone or how to wire it or program things to make it work. So, for myself and probably some others too, I'm fine with these, let's call them "wanna be" FPV DJI drones. I bought the DJI FPV when it came down in price, mostly for the motion controller, I love it. I'm ok flying my Mavics with the sticks, but I'm definitely NOT good enough to do FPV with them ! And granted, I can't fly true FPV with the motion controller, but to me that's ok. I just recently picked up Avata 1 and actually wish I would have waited for the 2. I think DJI had the "wanna be" FPV pilot, like myself, in mind when they came out with the FPV line of drones. That's my 2 cents anyway. Thanks for posting.

I think he's confused as to what the Avata is. (I don't have one) I think they are "sport" drones... A stepping stone into full acro FPV. Cine (lite) capabilities but not a mavic. I also think DJI are like Apple. If you want a full acro FPV setup that you tune etc then go "Android".

Avata 2 is a 3,5" Cinewoop dron, easy to learn, easy to use, more people can experience this approach to Fpv..... To demand beyond that it's Just a nonsense..... If someone needs top performance should get a 5" or a Freestyle fpv.

@@andresmartinez1237 Yeah that's kind of how I see the Avata 2... Cinewoop with a lower learning curve, good camera, good battery life, and strong DJI customer support for people who don't want to learn to build repair program FPV ,etc. I love my Avata 2.

I think next to the flymore kit, there should have been an avata 2 ‘advanced’ kit for those of us who aren’t new to fpv. Maybe minus the motion controller and add the standard remote for $50-$100 more? I think adding the motion controller appeals to the masses who don’t fly fpv. The advanced kit, which could be sold in lower numbers, would cater to the fpv enthusiast who wants to unlock manual mode.

OcuSync4, which you will rave about in your next video, is obviously why it’s not compatible with the previous gear. It’s a FPV cinewhoop drone. Why would you want to fly it with the RC2. It is designed to be flown with goggles. As far as flight modes, it is a FPV drone. Fly it in manual mode. FPV goggles don’t hinge. I do agree that it would be nice to use the app to control functions and the head tracking. I do like your videos but I think you are stretching on this one. That’s what I think…respectfully.

I agree with this... Seems his "gripes" are mainly that DJI have decided to update technology and makes consumers pay for it. DJI are kinda known for adding "features"/backwards compatibility when the new money starts to dry up.

DJI has made O3 work with O2 components. I’m fairly certain O4 will also be compatible with O3 on the future. Why fly with Rc2? Some people prefer screens to goggles for a bunch of reasons, comfort, LOS compliance, increase situational awareness, the list goes on. Yes. It’s an FPV drone, with GPS stability. So why can’t I get flight modes. I can have it return to home. I can do flips and rolls with a button. Why not give us more? Also I can’t fly acro unless I spend another $200 or basic angle…

Since everyone has an issue with the prop guard then someone should make some type of add on prop guard like a 3-D snap on guard to go over the previous on for more protection

I agree with the smart flight feature, but if they made that available that's going to make their camera drone less appealing. Except for someone who's considering their budget. But yes I hope they make that available in the future it will make the avata a one stop tool

I think the air 3 can charge all three batteries at once... Am I mistaken? I'm not confident but I thought I saw a video on it. But yes having the avata 2 charge all 3 at once would be awesome

Charging one at a time makes sense. if you discharge all 3 batteries, then you would have to have 3x the break before the batteries are charged. in the case of single charging - you can fly immediately after charging the first battery

No amount of traditional camera drone flying could have prepared me for how difficult the first 2 weeks of learning Acro flight actually ended up being. I think DJI is scared to make an FPV controller package. It would attract droves of buyers who think they are good at flying drones but really have no idea what they're signing up for with manual/acro.

I just bought my first drone today. I decided to fly it in the house and I crashed it and it shredded my granddaughters A honor roll papers anyway I think you’re right about the video. It would be nice if they had a screen with a remote control instead of the eye goggles.

I have one question to you. How would you do an entire 2 story home tour without the goggles and just from the remote screen? I can't believe I wasted so much time that I will never get back watching this video. I have never unsubscribed from anyone even If I do not agree with them but this video did it for me.

@StevieDronas you are wrong. There are a lot of people that do. All the new Emax FPV kits have goggles that convert into a monitor and mount on the controller. Glad you like your Avata. So you won’t do the updates when DJI releases them to make it better?

I have. There are plenty of reasons. Goggles don’t fit over glasses, better situational awareness, claustrophobia, vertigo. I personally prefer goggles myself but I know multiple people that do not. It’s definitely a thing. HDZero just released a new monitor. There are plenty of monitors that exist and controllers with screens.

Here we go again... 1. Just wait until those packages are available or until you can buy the components separately. BTW if you get the Fly More With 3 kit, you're getting around $1500 of stuff for $1200. You basically get the Motion Controller for free. 2. There's talk of that compatibility but I don't see this as anything to bitch about. The problem is in the software and how it's delivered. It's not as easy as armchair quarterbacks think it is. 3. Compatibility with the Goggles 2, Integra and FPV RC2 is on the horizon. They will also offer the Avata 2 as a stand alone product. Why complain that the Avata 2 doesn't fly with the Goggles 2, when you can't buy the Avata 2 alone? Everyone put your FOMO away and fly the drones you purchased those goggles and controllers for. Jesus, you talk as if it's a pacemaker or something... 4. Headtracking with a FPV Remote? I guess you're pissed that Easy Acro doesn't work as well? 5. Hahahaha!!!! Called it!!! 6. Flight Modes? Did you lose your Mini 4 Pro? This damn thing already has enough training wheels on it. It's not a camera drone for God's sake. "Why doesn't it have Active Track or Waypoints. Sniffle..." 7. The "hinge" operates to purpose... What do you do with your other goggles when you want to look at stuff? Making the hinge strong enough to hold the goggles at a 90 deg angle would come with other compromises for little gain. The cameras could be better but they aren't designed for "looking at your drone in the distance"... They are for checking your immediate area. You're not ALLOWED to watch your drone using any visual aids. That's why you have a spotter. You always have a spotter, right? RIGHT?!? Hahaha! 8. So... you want to use your phone to adjust the drone instead of the goggles and/or controller? Because it's so difficult to use the controls on the goggles or Motion Controller? Because you think it would be awesome if the other person tethered to your goggles either wired or wirelessly could suddenly change things while you are flying? Oh okay... 9. Design and engineering is a world of compromise. Did you want a higher cost? You don't think the flight time is good enough as is? They are considering a "Mini" version but it won't be as strong or as good as the Avata 2. They could make a 5" version as well but it would be much bigger... You know what? Just build a drone and be happy. Why purchase any bind and fly drone? Yeesh. 10. DIY people shouldn't buy the Avata 2... It wasn't intended for them, not even a little bit. Everything isn't for everybody. It was designed for lazy bastards, like myself, that take their cars in for oil changes, call for service when their garage door doesn't work, or get the cable guy in when the internet is on the fritz. I have no time or interest in tearing one of these apart, "repairing it" and then flying it only to worder if I missed something. Besides, Care Refresh is $60 with a $49 dollar replacement fee... F- DIY!!! Alright, this was fun, see ya for the Avata Mini/ Tello Pro and the Mavic 4.

A lot of good thoughts. They should have made the Avata 2 plastic at least as Durable as the Avata 1. The prop guards are too weak for the abuse this FPV quad will see. There will be a ton of breakage, with inability to self repair(one of your gripes) but then, I kinda feel like DJI did this on purpose so they can continue to be a paid repair service. So, time to see who can make the best prop guard protectors/stiffeners. ...And, Go!

Why not we go ahead with class action lawsuit? DJI policies are against consumers interest making every single existing equipment not compatible with their new products. If the consumer group was large, DJI may already have been sued.
