After going for biomedical engineering in undergrad I was headed to med school. When I learned about the option of being an NP, I leapt at it. I don’t see the collaboration of an MD as a restriction, I see it as a bonus. I get the extra support of their expertise and my patients get the benefit of both roles. It’s a win win. Medicine is a team sport, I think nurses should consider the collaboration with MDs as a bonus of the profession. I just started my first bedside nursing job and I love it. I’m in no rush to become an NP. All of us are equally important and I take a lot of pride in being a nurse and not an MD! I love your channel, your videos are such a great resource.
