I cant say Im a fan, maybe because most people here are small minded Americans but Indians and blacks have nothing in common. Indians are known for their loyal family values, they have the lowest divorce rate in the world for centuries and have kept their ancient culture alive with its rich food, vibrant music and festivals, beautiful spirituality like Karma, Yoga and meditation and hospitable values despite the British and Turkic invaders trying hard to break them. Blacks lost their family values, 70% of black kids in America grow up in single parent homes, they fail badly in school and dont go to college then wake up one day mad that they are poor and not respected by anyone in society. This is a very sad way to go through life. The average middle class Indian studies very hard and works truly hard like a donkey for his own self but also his parents and his wifes parents and their kids. They dont waste money living laviciously but they have real wealth in their kids and their values. I could go on and on for many paragraphs but I just wanted to shed a little light as to why most Indians would never ever consider a black/african for their potential partner. there is nothing in common. Even when an Indian sees an elder they touch their feet and say Namaste, its about respect for those who paved the way for you. Most Indians look at black Americans as a cartoon character, they live such different and such sad lives compared to even a middle class Indian. Diwali, Holi, Eid, Ganesh Chaturthi, these things bring so much joy and camraderie in a desi persons life, i feel bad that this poor girl and her kids will never experience that. They will just be regular black american kids without their Indian heritage at all.. Reply

i do feel sorry for her though. Especially in America, having money and status is important. I am sure, she gets envious of her good Indian friends who married other Desi men and who live in sweet mansions in the nice part of town. Indians are famous for the family values and not getting divorced and achieving success in life through hard work and determination. To be honest, the black community is not known for these things. I wonder how her parents must feel - they probably feel very sorry for their daughter. Indian men may not be the most stylish or physically handsome guys (outside of the few Bollywood hunks) but they are the best fathers in the world. Indian men live and die for their women and children. That is why Indian families stay together and have so much prosperity and love. I feel sorry for this poor girl that she will never get to experience the love and joy that other Indian families feel everyday for even one minute. She will be hurting deep down...knowing what she could have had instead of this life with a lesser culture

@@Shivu836 interesting response. I mostly disagree but I understand where you're coming from. Culture is very important. Most people with sense would say it's a necessity, as would I. That said, sometimes traditions within cultures are not good. When that happens, it's up to the individual to decide if they want to abide in that specific cultural standard or change things up. For those that would do differently from their cultures, make sure you're doing it for the right reasons

It’s crazy because it’s showing me a lot about my flaws. When I’m interrupted, I take it as disrespect. But when he’s interrupting, he’s so exciting to talk about his love for her. And her reaction is like “let him get it out”. But even though he’s interrupting her, he’s also holding her on a high pedestal. My partner is the same way and I tend to get angry at him sometime, but he is always putting me on a pedestal. It makes me want to learn patience and not take things so personal. It also makes me want to watch more videos about marriage, because everyone is human and we have to focus on intentions more than the minor flaws.

@tabithasrinivasan5980Ай бұрын
Sister Cynthia, The nuclear families are far more loosely connected and far less stable than larger families with grandparents , uncles, aunts, cousins in the picture . In Asia, meaning the sub continent of India, China, Japan, south east Asia , and even south west Asia, the support system is the entire family not only just the nuclear one . There is more peace , love and stability in such families. How does one discard one’s parents just because one gets married ? Is it only for funding them from birth to weddings alone?! As a south Asian myself , I love the fact that my kids can grow up with the collective wisdom of several generations and learn to live and grow up with lots of cousins as well as siblings who become a support system in their generation. CHRISTianity originating in the Middle East Speaks of taking care of parents through their old age too as does every eastern religious scripture. Why this aberration in the west ?! Surely to be changed in our lifetime to give our children the approval of both CHRIST and a support system .❤

My son's first real love was with a sweet Indian girl in high school, of course we're black. When I say her mother gave my son absolute hell, her 4'11" frame bullied and harassed my son relentlessly, despite the fact that her daughter was always at our home, they even attended prom together, she called the police on him when he sat outside thier home waiting in the car for her to get home. She threatened to massacre our entire family because her daughter attended my son's birthday outing the night before they were scheduled to go to Hawaii. Mind you I said her mother, her kind father who she got her sweetness from was as chocolate as my dark skinned husband with a head full of coal black hair and held no prejudice at all; at least he never treated any of us as if he did. It was him that did his best to smooth things over as much as he could. She eventually succeeded in breaking them up, but it's sad they truly cared about each other.

It was so sad to read your experience. We can't fix ignorance unless one is willing to learn about other cultures and talk to people. My grandmother’s parents were from India and she married a handsome black man from Jamaica. They had no problems from family and the cultures blended quite well. My dad resembles both his parents and passed on all those genes to us. I hope that mom found the so called ideal mate for her daughter.

i do feel sorry for her though. She will be hurting deep down....

My father disowned me when I was pregnant with my son, his father is black American, unfortunately he turned out to be a horrible person and I ended up being a single parent and had to be both mom and dad but I have my son. One of my aunts told me I messed up our family by having a black child. You’re a beautiful couple, God bless you and your beautiful family.

While some what they want with a wealthy man 🎉🎉 some don't. Some go for a feeling ( connection, bond, relationships, chemistry) some would rather be in a marriage with money and just good basic relationship (no chemistry/bond just routine) because they want their kids to grow in a financially stable home....
