You know after all this expierence with FPSs including arma 3, squad and other realistic shooters, I feel like Battlefield 4 (War Tapes sound setting) takes the cake in the SOUND department. It is BEAUTIFUL. the snapping of incoming fire, the actual speed of sound, the distant firing of tank shells and attack helicopter gunner, and just when jets speed right over you, and the echos of the guns and the explosions and the yelling is amazing. DICE put in as much effort into the sound as in the graphics. Stunning

Most of these mods are now on the Steam workshop - makes mod management so much easier particularly with mods that update frequently.

+Miłosz Szekiel well in a real enviroment you would easily be aware of your team around you as well as knowing rough directions without getting out your compass everytime. It's not necessarily a realistic mod, but it fills the gap between the game and reality with a sleak little crutch

Sound of pure: I like everything about it except the sopound of the guns from the gunships. It sounds like metalk grinding on a grinder.

I appreciate the electro-swing background music, recently got into the genre myself. ;) I had long been a fan of ASR AI in my ArmA 2 days however, for ArmA 3, bCombat takes the cake, you should give it a try.

ShacTac helps with immersion because FPS games lack peripheral vision or environment awareness like one would have in real life. You're stuck to a flat, camera-like view. A little HUD element to tell you if your buddy is still next to you helps a lot.

I thought sound speed is already part of Arma 3. I've also never had an opportunity to use any hand-to-hand combat.

when it comes to flying and driving in first person no mod can beat the TrackIR/FreeTrack that ARMA has to offer. would probably be very cool to try good VR down the road but being able to just clip 3 IR LEDs on my headset and plug in a PS3 Eye Camera and have the ability to move and rotate my head inside the cockpit is amazing

Why is AGM in this. ACE 3 is AGM and CSE combined, so there is no longer any AGM. This also happened way back in early 2015 so you could've had plenty o time to change it since then. Plus you cannot eve download the mod at all anymore.

I'm telling u this I prefer acre over task Force radio acre puts more realism into the perspective unlike task force. Task force u click and don't have to worry about what frequency your on to be talking to your team. Now acre you have to worry about your squelch values, mountains trees ,buildings, security codes and the list goes on and on

Blastcore doesn't make it more realistic vannila explosions are the most realistic it can be. In explosions there is not at all much fire but the most dust and dirt.

Even Call of Duty has more realistic sounds that Arma 3 I haven't heard worse sounds in any military game than Arma 3. None that I remember at least.

the shack tack hud makes it less realistic... in war you don't see a floating radar that perfectly pinpoints enemies and friendlies.

Speed of sound I like the vehicle sounds but the guns are from unturned try dyna sound lost way better than speed of sound

Love the video , I think you nailed all the mods , but I have a question , I installed Task force radio via Steamworkshop , and I set TeamSpeak up according to what I am suppose to do yet When I am in a friends game and transmit , he can hear me but I can't hear him , so I am wondering if you could maybe explain to me the entire process of installing the mod via Workshop.

AGM and ACE? You are aware that the AGM, CSE, and ACE2 teams all combined to make the ACE3 team, and AGM isn't supported or updated anymore?

Isn't AGM obsolete? It's a dead project, all effort of its creators is now focused on ACE. PS: ST HUD is totally unrealistic. It's for those who can't orient in the field.

ST HUD is an approximation of the situational awareness that you would have in real life due to directional hearing, peripheral vision and being able to distinguish differences in sound of different people moving with different gear. All of those things have to be simulated that way because of technological limitations. It lets you perceive things you would be able to in real life, ergo it is a realism mod.

+Mike Short I spent £270 (around $350) on my pc and I can get Arma 3 running ok when I turn the graphics setting down, if you are after 60 fps or max settings you will need to spend more but if you ate not worried by a slightly lower (but still playable) FPS and graphics no more than $350 will be fine

Great list. Question... I walked away from Arma 2 after I simply got burned out on it. I have been staring at Arma 3 since it came out. Thinking about jumping back in.. Where is there faq,info, sites etc on things to do with a vanilla Arma 3? Initial optimizations, must have tweaks,mods etc? Thanks!

If you are playing with certain mods does everyone else have to be running the exact same mods or does it vary? Like SoS or Pheonix I wouldn't think others have to be using it as well. If your running 5 or 6 mods I would think it would be difficult to find others running those exact 5 or 6.

Penquin ER You have to fin a server with the mods that you have installed. Get A3 launcher and it will become a lot easier to find servers
