Why is no one talking about Ben? He has complex character and the guy playing Ben is also good at the show. His character has his own episode as well. That’s why he has an important role in show.

But they don't get recognition like Chinese and Hispanics population in America even though Indians are the 3rd largest immigrants in America after Latinos and Chinese. When I saw the trailer for this show I wasn’t sure I would like it as much but when I watched it I was so surprised, it’s such a good show and has so many emotional moments as well as funny moments. I’m definitely hoping for a season two!

I just finished watching Season 1, and I can confirm that this show is definitely worth watching. The trailer does not do it justice. It's a perfect blend of comedy, drama, and romance, touching on some deep stuff while keeping the humor fun.

I’m kinda happy she ended up with Ben, I know she’ll probably be with Paxton next season but he just didn’t appreciate her enough, he wasn’t a jerk, Ben was just always there for her and perhaps was less cute, but way sweeter.

Everyone was great but the character who surprised me in a good way was Kamala.😂Her story and acting was very enjoyable! And it was hilarious to watch Devi being jealous of her.

For the first couple episodes Devi's total brat attitude really turned me off! I was like whoa, I can't watch this, the main character is so annoyiiiiiing! But then I gave her the benefit of the doubt because she's only 15 and is grieving. Then I started to enjoy it more cause it made sense. Everyone deals with shit in their own way. ❤️ Great show!

I actually just finished binge-watching the show myself and I LOVE IT!❤ I'm waiting for season 2. Everything on this list was very accurate and the show's realism is incredible but the list was still missing a few things that should've been mentioned. The portrayal of mental illness, the complexity of its characters, and also personal character growth. These are also the great things about this show. I love and relate to it. Great job Mindy!!

Love this show and can't wait for more! The last scene on the beach made me ugly-cry. I love that Devi is shown as a REAL teen and her character has so many layers. The level of grief she's going through and her reactions to it are not sugarcoated in any way, and her awkwardness about dating is hilariously accurate too.

When I saw the trailer for this, it being created by Mind Kaling was definitely the selling point alone. Knew nothing else about it, and when I started watching, just loved it all. Loved the portrayal of teenage grief. something I can relate to. Its tough finding yourself as a teenager, tougher when you add in grief and nothing knowing how to navigate it with family and friends, and the acting out of it. And just everything else about it. Something as well that the representation I think also subtly hints at, is the ideal good looking person is not (only) white, blond or blue eyed. Every one is pretty and good looking, (it's a good looking cast). Something that I think everyone needs to see. And it also confirms, in this day and age of social media etc., no amount of money could be paid for me to return to those teenage years.
