I noticed that when Don Krieg makes his brief appearance in this series the body of one of his top men Pearl is seen lying on the ground behind him.

The amount of detail, care, and nods to the source material really helped us long time fans be okay with most of the changes and omissions. It was at least very clear the producers and writers were respectful and sympathetic to Oda's original creation.

After I watched the season I rewatched it catching a lot of references, & I am still seeing so much more like: - During though out the season you can see the Straw Hats wearing some outfits based on the ones from the chapter color spreads (plus twice we can see the Criminal fashion brand) & also various drinks that have been in the series - You can see a poster of a missing lion in Buggy’s tent being a reference to Richie & next to it is an image of Buggy & his crew from the manga - In Usopp’s flashback you can see a poster that mentions Victoria Cindry who died on stage & next to it was one that mentioning Tom, but then preset date you can see next to Buggy’s wanted poster there is a flyer mentioning war on Broc Coli island & another mentioning a carpenter being a reference to Pepper of the Usopp Pirates - Kaya’s garden there are topiaries shaped like one in is a reference to Lionbuta (pig lion) from the Island of Rare Animals & also a taxidermy animal that remind me of Cocox (rooster Fox) - Inside of Kaya’s mansion there is a painting of the Oro Jackson & images of Sea Beasts on the ceiling of the foyer - Nami is reading “Noland the Lair” to the unconscious Zoro which if you look at a page in the book you can spot Pandaman - In Arlong Park on the Ghost Train sign it’s a reference to the Sea Train but we can also see a cameo of the zombie tree MocDonald while at the bar you can see tiki heads which are based off 2 characters that maybe being Ace & Spector (Mock Town Hotel owner) - On Usopp’s ketchup bottle it says “Boshi” which means Star - In the Baratie kitchen has many references to the species in the series like the Elephant Blue Fin Tuna

I think Baratie's receptionist is a reference to Oda, Oda always draw himself as a man with a fish for a head, if you remove the receptionist's body, basically the head is a fish.

When One Piece Live Action Season 2 comes, I hope the episodes are extended from 8 to 10.

everytime "we are" started playing I found myself in tears, it was ten years since I've first heard this song and it hit me really hard

One thing I noticed when a buddy of mine and I binged the entire thing was in the last scene with Buggy and Alvida. One of the obscured shots hanging on the wall behind buggy and super blurry due to the depth-of-field effect is something that to me looked like a wanted poster. I can't be entirely certain due to said blurriness and obscured positioning, but I noticed jagged red hair. I personally believe this to be a wanted poster for Eustace "Captain" Kidd. Another similarly obscured wanted poster behind Alvida (this one had the 'Wanted' label clearly visible, at least) was one for someone with silvery white hair. And although I couldn't figure out whose poster it was at the time, I'm starting to wonder if it was one for Rayleigh, Rogers' first mate.

I am a big fan of the manga and the anime (yes, I named my daughter Robin because of you know…Nico Robin), I was so worry that they are going to ruin it, but as a fan, I approve this series. The spirit and the atmosphere is on point. 👍🏻💙

It’s amazing how precise this new series is, when it comes to atmosphere and references, it’s really good! Only two pretty important things I miss, which isnt there (and I wonder why?). It’s Usopp’s long nose and Sanji’s extreme love for women, all from the start - especially Nami, it was so much fun and a part of Sanji’s personality and the long nose is a part of how we know Usopp and his story with his mom

It's quite a pleasant surprise to see Netflix of all things have such a stellar anime adaptation with One Piece after Cowboy Bebop was absolute garbage!
