Another moment within Liam's overdose on cocaine - when Lip goes to pick him up in the hospital, hugs him, and tries to not break down crying hysterically. Seeing Lip in such a vulnerable state always gets me.

Monica’s suicide attempt was sad, but it was the kids’ reactions to it that always gets to me. Fiona having to come home and clean up her mother’s blood makes my heart hurt, and then when Debbie and Carl come into Fiona’s room and the kids just hug each other and cry will make me sob every time I watch it.

Yep. Cause theres kids that really go thru shit like that everyday. It turns into a cycle too because more times than not the kids grow up to be just like or similar to their parents.

I disliked Monica from the beginning. Not only did she damage them by not raising them and abandoning them. Every time she would come back in their life, she would hurt them even more: taking away Liam, stealing all the money they ever had, attempting suicide in front of her kids, and more.

*Carl finds out nick kills a kid... then goes over to Sean's apartment and asks to sleep there. *Lip hooked up with Mandy and she said I love you.. then he didnt say it back and the next day she left with the abusive boyfriend. *Lip tried to get Karen to understand that it was Mandy that hit her with the car, but she couldnt remember right after because of her short term memory loss. *Bianca taking all of her clothes off, walking into the ocean to die. *Lip and the Gallaghers finding out that Karen didn't have his baby, when they were gathered in the hospital excited. *When V takes in the kid refugees and finds out one is a girl and gets her some pink clothes and a head band... aww *Mickey gets Ian from the dance club and brings him home then takes care of him. * Fionas speech when trying to get custody of her siblings.

Season 3 episode 2 when Frank breaks Debbie’s school project and calls it a piece of shit will always be one of the saddest moments. She loved, believed in, and took up for Frank. His betrayal destroyed all those feelings and broke her heart. It put in line with the other kids about how they felt about their father.

What about when Carl sees his friend killed the kid on the bike and goes home almost in shock, then Fiona forces him to talk to her. I feel like that was one of the most human moments for Carl.

I started to really like Nick and that happened and I (someone it takes a shit ton of sadness to get to cry) started trying not to ball my eyes out. In no particular order: • Fiona yelling at Monica • Frank thinking Emily was Fiona • Carl finding Nick after he killed that kid • The whole episode of Monica dying and her funeral (esp. Franks speech, made me bawl) • Mickeys dad finding him and Ian • Ian saying good bye to Lip • The whole episode of Ian stealing Yevgeny (I find it so heartbreaking to watch) • Franks goodbye to Fiona • Liam with the cocaine • Carl telling Debbie he is worthless (made me sob, if I had to choose this would be my top moment, I just broke me)

The scene where Lip is giving money to Xan’s mom so he can be her legal guardian and Xan sees her mom and starts crying and Lip sees she belongs with her mom and drops the money and takes off running. The sadness in his eyes at that moment, I felt bad for him.

Lip always wanted to look after someone, look at the way he went dad mode when Fiona was imprisoned or when he did so much prep when Karen was pregnant. Xan was a way he could be a dad, even if it was thankless.@@gotthisusername

I think it also had to do w/ the fact that Lip was excited when he thought Karen was gonna have his baby, so taking care of Xan probably brought that fatherlike instincts back. Which would also explain why he started to care and love for Xan so much

That's because he loved that kid. He wanted what was best for HER, even if that destroyed him. Lips a real ass dude. One of my favorite characters since the episode where he found out Ian was gay. He just accepted it for what it was and loved his younger brother no differently. Never treated him any different either. I think he was just upset that his brother felt like he couldn't let him know.

The sweetest part about Frank thinking Emily was Fiona, is how Emily goes along with it and understands how much Frank needs this. That scene never fails to make my eyes tear up.

That happened to me with Supernatural. I had caught bits of it here and there, had even picked up the first season for like $5 but hadn't gotten around to watching it. Some channel was doing reruns in the morning and I was sitting on the couch, not totally paying attention and things were so awful in my life that that morning I was a suicide spiral. My thoughts were just circling in my head and every circle took me down further. The episode where Jo and her mom died was what on which... well, didn't really help my state of mind, because I knew my mom wouldn't stick around this world without me. And then the next episode came on, where Sam and Dean go into a psych ward. They almost get caught when a nurse comes into the room. And then, suddenly, Dean pushes his pants down, throws his hands up in the air and yells, "PUDDING!" It was _so_ unexpected and hilarious that it snapped me out of that downward spiral. I'm quite sure I would not be here if that hadn't happened. So now I'm a Supernatural fanatic and even ended up going to a con and meeting them. Jared was so, so amazing and what happened with him really helped me through some dark times. But that's another story and this is already ridiculously long! 😂 Sorry about that. It's obviously something I'm very passionate about.

@@OverdramaticAngel dude, this legit happened to me. I was at rock bottom, then the TNT reruns of supernatural started and it was the one show my husband and I both loved. My husband actually refuses to watch the series finale because he says "then it never really ended". That's how attached we both were to that show. Longest relationship of our lives that one.

The scene between Frank and Emily makes me cry every time. It opens up Frank’s character and makes you think about the impact his parenting actually had on Fiona and the rest of them, and show what happened before Fiona stopped giving a shit about Frank. He does a great job of making addiction seem less like a crime and more like an illness that can tear families apart, and it gives a look into what their life could’ve been like if Frank and Monica didn’t suffer from addiction and mental illness.

Another sad moment is when Frank is trying his best to stay sober in order to get that $3000 dollars, and he's actually enjoying himself and the time he's spending with his family. Then Carl and Debbie force him to drink booze because they know Frank will return to the bottle anyway.

She just wanted him to love her, and he kept wanting Karen, and Karen knew and loved causing problems in their relationship.. I actually relate to Mandy so much, poor girl. :( To me, Mandy was the best girlfriend Lip ever had, she did the most, like applying to colleges for him and getting him into MIT.

Watching Shameless with my family, I realized that every hardship I experienced, every argument I had with them and the brief moments of resentment of them looked so damn *minuscule* compared to what this cast showed us. Instead of wishing I was away from my family, this show taught me that I should be thankful that it isn’t worse, that it always somehow gets better, no matter how bad it got. I know this is a show but the reality it shows us is far too real in this day and age.

C'mon... after all the huge drama points in the series (Fiona x Monica after the squirrel fund, Fiona's speech, the aftermath of Monica's death, Frank ruining his daughter marriage, Fiona almost killing Liam, Fiona in the court fighting for her brothers and sisters, Lip and Mandy in season 4, Frank after the transplant) and you expect that people take you guys seriously when all you can say it's "Gallavich... Gallavich"... like, srly dude? Srly, Mickey leaving was more impactfull to you than Fiona battling for her family in the court or her speech about being abandoned by her mother???? Like, srly?

Where is the scene where Fiona took Edda to the nursing home, or the whole Monica montage at the end of season 7 with Carl spray painting "Monica" on a wall, where is Carl telling Fiona how he's quitting selling drugs and has the moment where his voice quivers as he says "I don't wanna see that" or Carl running after Nick to learn that he just killed a guy. Half of the tear jerking moments are the pieces you put together, like Frank being depressed about Monica passing because the whole show he was dedicated to only caring about himself, so to see him actually broken down because he was fiercely in love with Monica? That's heart shattering

There were so many moments in this cast where Emmys were deserved! This show may be crazy, but it is FULL of real life moments. These kids have really been through it! They left out the moment where Frank takes the wrap for Carl after the two of them robbed his foster parents home. When Frank n Lip spent the day together celebrating his graduation. Or when monica was going to leave with Bob n take Liam, but she knew he was better off with Fi. Or when Fiona n Jimmy-Steve were cleaning up her blood on Thanksgiving. I could go on n on... I think this so hasn't gotten all the recognition it deserves. Love you Shameless!!

I have to say that the ending of the show actually made me sob. Like you said, the show is good at giving us conflicted feelings. This is the first show I've watched to completion. Started as something simple and the family really grew on me. Watching these scenes brought up so many memories

Been binge watching during pandemic. Best show/seriers I've ever watched. Wish it were more kid friendly. Never had to hit pause so many times in my life when my 13 year old autistic son kept waking through the living room..lol. He knew mommy was watching happy show!!! For me God bless my child lol!

I think the saddest moment is when Fiona comes home from county jail, and the house is empty, and she goes to every bedroom, and says goodnight to each family member, then goes and lays in Liam's bed and tells him goodnight was heartbreaking... Cause she realized that she truly messed up but you couldn't help it feel for her because she always had the weight of the world on her shoulders.

Oh my GOD!THE FIRST 4 SEASONS OF SHAMELESS! Those 4 seasons in particular are so freaking good in my opinion with S4 being the best. It's a travesty that Emmy hasn't been nominated for awards because she deserves ALL the awards for those seasons in particular (I stopped watching after S5 cause the show went ridiculously off the rails for me). God, that speech when Fiona confronted Monica definitely deserves number 1 because it ALWAYS gets me and I think anyone would feel the same whether you're a fan or casual viewer. Gotta love how showing the scene of Ian & Mickey being endgame ended up on this list even though the topic was Ian saying bye to his family haha Maybe there should be a Gallavich countdown list of some sort. What would topic be though? Fights? Ship worthy moments?

Shameless is strongly emotional. Full of sadness but still making me think. Seeing Monica struggle to raise her family teaching her siblings but always screwed when her parents got trouble again and again. I could barely breathe when every episode came to an end. So crucial and heartbreaking

To this day in the older seasons when Fiona was getting her life together after Monica devoted herself to the family, then cut herself that evening, it was tragically upsetting to see Fiona go back into her childhood kitchen and be once again trapped in that house. There were just so many layers to that scene that people don’t appreciate.

For me, the saddest moment on Shameless was the final scene in “Crazy Love” (season 5), when Ian was admitted in the psych ward and we see him making goodbyes to the family and Mickey. Barely any words were spoken, but it was such a powerfully emotional scene, it was a rare moment I actually had tears in my eyes watching a TV show. The background music and his slow march further into the ward were the climax of such a heartbreaking scene. 😢😭😢😭😢😭

Yeah it makes me happy they could move pass that horrible film and be on a better show, but that's how it is with most actors some movies will and others will prevail.
