Am I the only one who finds these interruptions more funny than scary? Also, if Vrillon is an alien, he sounds like a pretty nice one. Reminds me of the Autobot leader, which is why I think it would have been HILARIOUS if instead of Vrillon, we had heard Prime's voice.

Fun Fact: at the same time as War of the Worlds there was also a big game on the radio, so many more people were listening to that instead. Newspapers certainly jumped to report it as if it caused a great panic due to radio being their competitor.

Most scary introduction for me is My brother comes home on a school bus so we have to answer the door but he has a specific knock so you can tell he is at the door and he always comes at 4:45 I was petrified when a loud short knock hit the door instead of my brothers Turns out he was going to hang out with his friend and his frien)dn is like 6 foot 7 while my brother is 5 foot seven so his knock was louder now I feel dumb

YES!! Someone who understands! I don’t necessarily get scared easily, per se, but man, just the thought of some of these kinds of broadcast interruptions happening to me, or the sounds of like, tornado/air raid sirens, or amber alert sounds, I just feel so frightened and sometimes get tears in my eyes. It can be kinda embarrassing, actually 😅

Funny but traumatizing story: So i was at home and my mom was sleeping in her room, my dad was at work, and my sister was at her friends house so i was basically alone. I was 7 at the time and i was bored so i hopped on youtube on the tv and scrolled through the videos. I saw this video and being the naive and stupid 7 year old i was, i clicked the video saying, “yeah right, like these are scary at all!” and clicked on the video. I saw the first hacking and i stood there, petrified. I was so scared i crawled to the other side of the living room table and looked away and covered my ears since i was so scared 💀. I quickly turned off the tv and was traumatized for the next MONTH. I was so scared i didnt use youtube until a yaer later and i never used the tv for another 3 years. Even now i rarely use the tv to watch anything, only to play games and thats it. This video definitely taught 7 year old me the hard way of how horrifying the internet can be if you you go down the rabbit hole or in this case the bottomless pit of youtube, can be.

I'm having a Mandela Effect moment with Max Headroom one. I was watching TV in the UK when there was an interruption, mid-programme, and Max Headroom came on for about 10 seconds but with a poor but watchable signal and it looked better than the rubber mask guy. I searched this after watching another video about TV interruptions and expected it to be the one I saw.
