Thank you!! She was crucified, blacklisted and pretty much boycotted nearly into ruin while Timberlake had the gall to co-opt Michael Jackson and move on to even greater success. She was hung out to dry while he pretty much avoided any fire (partly due to his being advised to or partly himself to sidestep the issue) . That really nearly undid everything she had done up to that moment, which just shows how "supportive' the music industry really is. She called it, named it, read it and still moved on.

Like not many people were aware of how she had to face all the uncomfortable situations and racism, how the allegations affected her as well, if she didn't share them probably we would have never known. Wish MJ could do the same. Like how many people know that same Coca-Cola turned down MJ for endorsement because of his race in the early 80s( the reason why Mike was signed with Pepsi later) ?!? How many people know that MJ was arrested for driving a Rolls Royce, the officer thought the car was stolen because a young black teen was driving such an expensive car?! Mike was the biggest star on earth but yet the world doesn't know the real MJ story, they only know the media and tabloid version of MJ.

1. I’m still side-eyeing Justin Timberlake. 2. Janet Jackson has handled so much drama and controversy with so much grace, dignity and class. 3. She truly look like she wanted to cry when talking about people thinking she was hiding a secret baby and keeping the baby away from its father. She seemed truly hurt that people thought she would do something like that. 4. I’m glad to know that she had a close relationship with Michael Jackson. There’s so many reports that Michael didn’t have close relationships with his siblings as he got older and that’s obviously simply not true.

There were tines when growing up with Michael's music then Janet's and hearing the terrible stress they lived under I wished I could have offered that hand of friendship they so craved. I knew that would never happen because they were famous but we seemed to live parallel lives that made me wish I could reach out to them. So there fame preventing ordinary people like myself offering a genuine friendship. Fame had never meant anything to me so we all missed out in the name of fame. Love to Janet and I hope she can live the rest of her live with love and happiness to surround her. Her brother was an amazing person and just died far too young. Bless you Janet xx

I grew up with the Jackson 5 and my heart breaks everytime I hear what their lives were really like. They were so young, beautiful and supremely talented. Seeing what happened to all of them, especially Michael, it's tough to watch those early clips. I think Janet, as well as Randy and Tito, are way too kind with regards to their father. I also agree that Janet should not have been the one taking heat over the Super Bowl performance. I hope Janet is happy and at peace in her life.

Janet has been dope since day one. Yes, we all knew who she was, but I never thought of her as Michael's sister. I always thought of her as Janet Jackson, a superstar of her own talent. Her vibe, her songs, her look and her choreography are all her own. I have always known however, that she misses Michael deeply.

Gosh, watching the series I forgot how much Janet’s music was my soundtrack at some point in my life. I think the whole documentary was very refreshing and left you with a positive note. Janet is so right when she says that she has realised how incredibly strong she is. She has really stayed focused and poised in the times many people would’ve become chaotic and turn to addictive behaviour. Hats off to her. Brilliant and talented person.

We are a nation with no geographic boundaries. Bound together through our beliefs. We are like-minded individuals, sharing a common vision. Pushing for a world without color lines. Was my introduction to Janet Jackson. And what an introduction. Such an inspiration to 11 year old me. 15 year old me.....20, 25, 30, 35, and now even 43 year old me. There is no other for me. That statement entering the album solidified it. Each album since has put her more in my musical mind and soul. She is my top, and no matter what.....no one else will ever top her status as my #1 singer of all time. And my life's motto comes form the end of that iconic album. In complete darkness we are all the same. It is only our knowledge and wisdom that separates us. Don't let your eyes deceive you.

Yes it is sad , but psychologically speaking, I think it's more of a problem for her. Because she herself said that she had fought all her life to get rid of Jackson's name and to prove that she could be someone like her brothers. La Toya had the same problem. For example, Tito's children were very close to Michael and Taj spoke very beautiful about how Michael helped them record their first album. But at the same time I think there was a competition between the brothers, between her and Michael, to prove who was better.

I enjoyed the Janet documentary, but I really didn’t learn too many new things. I dated one of her backup singers for years, so I got the opportunity to meet up with them on tours and spend a considerable amount of time hanging out. Janet created a Family like environment, she’s extremely polite and sweet w/a wick sense of humor. Always down to earth, everybody was equals. She had a strong spiritual power that she never let go to her head. She stayed humble and grateful, into expressing & releasing her creativity, keeping it real was what her positive energy was about. We were all mature, but youthful coming into our own sensuality, as POC, who have a lot of hangups about exploring our freaky curiosity and she was giving herself permission. Rene & her were a great couple. He helped her to open up and feel confident with her image, but I guess if she was not matching the image of her video, he might have made some comments that made her feel insecure. I guess he thought he was trying to be helpful and trying to be there to inspire and support her. But it may have come off as condescending, but he meant well. I think he was trying to protect her before she heard it from the harsh public. Let’s work on it. Perhaps, she couldn’t no longer make the distinguish between the manager and her husband. The husband loves you no matter what, but the manager is thinking about delivering what is being marketed to the public. A rough place to be in any marriage.
