You missed the most pertinent issue with Lynne Perrie which was her alcohol problem. Getting up in front of live audiences and singing while completely legless had more to do with her departure than the lip fillers. As for Leslie Grantham......rest in peace Felix Reese. Mr Reese was a taxi driver in Germany. Grantham murdered him in a fight in 1966. He shot Mr Reese in the head. It was only because Grantham was in the Army at the time that he got away with serving only 10 years.

But if Roxanne had not been proved a liar, the poor guy would have been absolutely lynched and might even have faced vigilante attacks and never faced closure. I would hope we are less judgemental, in that respect, towards sexual assault victims.

As if being sexually assaulted isn't life destroying. Why do you feel the need to belittle the gross effects of sexual assault, just to support another wrong? It isn't necessary, you don't need to belittle one thing & exaggerate the other. "What if" means nothing in a situation that occurred, it happened the way it happened, what if is moot because it didn't happen. BOTH things are shitty, both things can have life destroying consequences.

She was part of the main plotline at the time when she left they had to quickly change it and it was awful.Then she came back was getting married in the plot then " went on holiday" just before her wedding and sent a text saying she couldn't go through with it and never came back so she messed the show up twice.

I reckon Peter Adamson was as good an actor as Corrie ever had, he was also very very famous, and he destroyed his career very weirdly in the early 1980s. He's pretty much forgotten now.

@@billybonds4449 Hi, I know about it thanks. He was tried for indecent assault in a pool, then found *not guilty* by a jury. He later *allegedly* told a tabloid journalist he'd actually done it but 'with no criminal intent' , which is completely contradictory and therefore makes no sense at all. He was sacked from the show for selling behind the scenes stories to the press for a second time after being warned about it after he first did so. Why he sold stories again, thereby throwing away his brilliant career, is a mystery, and probably will be one forever now.

I think you're the only other person that myself that shares this thought. I have seen friends lives destroyed because they had a little too much alcohol in their system from night before and got stung in routine stops. The stigma of drink driving tho meat lost job and lost friends. Ant wasn't over limit from night before...he was falling about the place pissed as a fart....grinds my gears seeing him getting a complete pass

Kevin Lloyd played the popular character Tosh Lines on The Bill from 1988 to 1998 until his well-known alcoholism problems became too much for the show's producers and castmates. He was written off the show as a form of tough love after showing up to the set too drunk to work and heavily encouraged to go into rehab, but unfortunately it backfired horribly, since he snuck out of the clinic to go binge drinking and when he returned, died as a result of breathing problems.

I got rid of my tele some years ago. As soaps became boring. Repeated scripts and blowing things up. They forgot about fresh story lines while trying to compete for awards. More recently, my son happened to catch an episode of corrie. He phoned me next day, 'you'll never guess who's havin a teen pregnancy on corrie'. Little Amy had barely started school when i last watched it. I don't miss the soaps but like to be reminded of how good they were in the past.

Lynne Perrie, who played Ivy Tilsley in Corrie, was no lady. She was known as Poison Ivy on and off screen. By all accounts, not one Corrie cast member showed up for her (real life) funeral.

Lynn Perry didn’t have “extreme plastic surgery”. She had her lips done which in those days was considered ridiculous and rather hilarious. Fast forward to 2021 and the now late Lynn Perry’s lips are nothing compared to reality TV nobodies like Charlotte Crosby who looks like she has a hovercraft stuck to her face.

I feel bruce jones (les battersby) and chris fountain (tommy duckworth) were a little hard done by. Should have just got a fine and suspension. Thankfuly both are still acting. Seems some acotors on soaps get away with far worse if there face fits like craig charles who was on drugs but was only suspended ditto the guy playing dev

Fired for an old tweet...Jesus. Because obviously no one else has ever said something they’ve regretted as a teen or changed their opinion. Everyone should be perfect by the time they are 20 🙄. We called each other gay all the time at that age, it didn’t even mean gay most of the time more like a bit sad. Like, don’t be gay mate.

The 2 I felt were unfair were Tommy Duckworth and Ellis from Emmerdale. I wish they hadn’t got of the original Ellis as the new one isn’t great. They should’ve just given him a warning and/or a warning. I don’t think he was really going to stab anyone, it’s just a daft drunk guy comment.
