One of Coverdale's best albums, in my opinion, was Northwinds. I love that album! Dave set the foundation for Whitesnake in this album, I feel. My favourite Whitesnake song will always be Lovehunter. The song is just so good, and the album itself is really good.

Pete is the man I can't tell you how many times he's reintroduced some old bands in songs that I missed somehow

So basically getting into good music probably began for me around 1979-1980 with the Beatles and Wings. The eighties where pretty much about prog and The Who. Nineties and 2000's it was fusion and jazz. The latter part of this decade my long overdue foray into hard rock. Groups like Whitesnake where overlooked by me during their heyday. I do remember those videos with Tawny Kitaen of Bachelor Party fame (to think at that time I thought Tom Hanks would never again make such a masterpiece). The self titled album is truly awesome (no coincidence that 4 out of 10 made it to your list). I'll definitely check out their other stuff based on your input. It's not about the agreeing; rather continuing to learn about, love and discover music, past, present and future.

Yes children of the night and bad boys, real heavy metal classics, crying in the rain amazingly heavy blues rock, still of the night another metal song, great top10 all good songs.

What about the drumming on Crying In The Rain? By Aynsley Dunbar. It’s probably some of best drumming I’ve ever heard in the whole heavy rock catalogue. Same with Bad Boys! Far out.. the drumming is just so fkn powerful and so precise/tight. To be honest if Dunbar didn’t play drums on that album, it wouldn’t of sounded as strong 💪🏽 His drumming combined with John Sykes’s guitar playing.. holy shit!

For a long time I just chalked up Whitesnake to a hair metal band and had no idea they had anything before "Slide it In" until some years back I was watching the show "The Young Ones" on DVD and found it strange that the punk rock guy was wearing Whitesnake shirts. I looked up some stuff on the band and was rather surprised to find out they had been a blues rock band for years prior and had 5 albums that I just had no idea existed.

Hi Pete, I'm sure there are alot of people that disagree with me, but I've always thought "Slide It In" is a better album overall than "1987". I know that "1987" is harder edged(I love Sykes!), but I think "Slide....) has more great tunes on it. But, sometimes it's still a toss up!

I like their earlier stuff with Moody, Marsden very much. Their later is just strong too, but not unique as their preceding ones
