+salozmen29 yeah, He was hyped for being the first openly gay player & the media was rooting for him to succeed because of the story it would've produced. But dude's still a day 3 pick, that's not bust worthy. Dude was the defensive player of the year in his conference, taking him in the 6th was low risk high reward if he turned out good

Well, I would leave his sexuality out of it. The reason why he didn't make the Rams roster in 2014 is because he was a Pure Pass Rusher, and ran his 40-yard time in 4.90, and for a 260 lbs DE, that's kinda slow. Plus he also refused to play Special Teams
@TheOdiCrew
@TheOdiCrew 8 жыл бұрын
XtremeTony Couldn't agree more with everything you said. When you're a 7th round pick you gotta work you're way into the lineup normally via special teams and like you said he refused to play special teams and expected to just be apart of the d-line rotation, probably bought into his own hype. Even 1st round picks gotta earn their spots

I will throw out Brian Lawton. He was picked first overall by the Minnesota North Stars in the 1983 NHL draft. I don't have the numbers, but I think it was 500 games, 200 points or something like that. That's beside the point: Cam Neeley, Dave Gagner, Pat LaFontaine, and STEVE YZERMAN went after Lawton. For those who don't know: Cam Neeley: revolutionized the game, he was considered the first very big guy who was also amazingly talented. He invented the NHL power forward. Dave Gagner: a great player who had many great seasons. Even though his career was shorter, he still had over 700 points in over 900 games. Pat LaFontaine. Ugh, this one stings. He had two 100+ point seasons, 105 in 89-90 and 148 in 92-93. His career was cut short, but he had 1013 points in slightly over 800 NHL games. Worst of all, STeve Yzerman. Arguably the best captain the NHL has ever seen. Yzerman has played over 1500 games and has over 1700 points. He had six straight 100 point seasons and he was a point per game player in 14 of his 22 seasons. That alone should make Lawton at least an honorable mention.

The story that I heard was Russel was given a blank DVD by the Raiders and was told to watch the tape and give a break down later just to prove he never watched tape and had no idea what he was talking about. When he came back with some BS about what was on the blank DVD, that was the final straw and he was cut.

Hard to consider Darko a bust. In his first THREE years in the NBA he played 5 minutes a game, he never got the chance to adapt to the NBA game. People just give him shit cause Melo and Wade got drafted after him, Kwame is WAY worse in my opinion.

Exactly. Detroit could’ve taken Melo at 2nd, but with the way the Pistons have been set up even Melo, Wade or Bosh could have become busts rather than Darko. Darko was simply the unfortunate one. Had he been drafted by a different team he’d have been given a chance by a different coach to adjust to the NBA style of play. He wouldn’t have been an Anthony Davis but he could have become a poor man’s Pau Gasol

The ottawa senators were accused of tanking in 1992? Their first year? With a bunch of players who never played together before? Of course, because as we all know expansion teams are known for being so great especially in a sport where cohesion between players is so important...

One of my greatest soccer memories was hearing about this Adu guy and how he was the next great thing and seeing him get mercilessly mauled by some kid known as Tam Nsaliwa as Canada went on to win the Gold Cup. As a hockey fan, Dipietro had 3/4 winning seasons as a starting goalie. The only reason people consider him a bust is because of that giant contract. I'd say that makes the Islanders GM Garth Snow one of the biggest busts ever
@dalesousa1447
@dalesousa1447 4 жыл бұрын
I believe Milbury was the gm at the time Dipietro was drafted he also traded Chara and a pick that turned into Spezza for a player who refused to play because he was worth more than what his contract was paying him you would think that would be a warning sign right??

I won't put Rick Dipetro higher than Alexandre Daigle. Unlike Daigle, Dipetro is not expected to be go 1st overall. Dany Heatley is expected to go first, and before Rick Dipetro, there is never a goalie drafted first overall. Drafting Rick Dipetro 1st overall and then signed him for 15 years contract is just another bizarre chapter of the Mike Milbury's lead New York Islander.

i would also like to point out first round pick for Seattle in 2009 Aaron curry LB out of Wake Forrest. He was deemed the most safe LB picks in that class (other LB's in the draft Clay Matthews, Brian Cushing Rey Malauga, james lauenitis just to name a few) Curry had a promising first and second year with first year 54 total tackles and 2 sacks second year 60 tackles 3.5 sacks then after that his production fell due to i believe to injury during the 2011 season and was traded later to the raiders and is now retired after trying to make the roster with the giants

I know Watchmojo likes to ignore motorsports when it comes to these lists, but I feel Casey Atwood should have at least gotten an honorable mention. Became the youngest winner at the time in Busch (now Xfinity), quickly signed by Ray Evernham and his new Dodge "superteam" for 2001. Ran like a rookie but was outshined by Kevin Harvick and Kurt Busch (future Cup champs). Ray dumped him to a "B" team for 2002, where he struggled. He was released for 2003 and never found a full time ride again.
