Good content. I noticed California made the list, which was surprising because a lot of people were leaving too. At the same time, Nevada didn't make the list. Some left out of Nevada and moved back too California economic not as great,only Casinos, service/Retail industry dont pay as much just cheaper, place to live,lack of public transportation,no culture. How about top cities for singles.

I finished high school in 1966. I went to Los Angeles, got a very nice civil service job within two weeks that I held for almost 40 years. I retired in 2014 and I returned to my home state. I will never live in another big city ever again. My home city has a population of just under 125 thousand people. I just love it here. I got a job just two days after I returned and an extremely nice senior citizen complex comprived of 90 apartment units. These units were only 10 years old when I moved in here and its gated and NO children. You have to be 55+ to live here in this complex. When I think about how long I lived in LA, that's 40 years of my life gone. All that smog, all those cars and all those people...damn! And so noisy, sirens, people shooting guns, car horns..what a horrible place to live. I can sleep in peace @ night now and never have to worry about car jacking, follow home invasion, muggings, break-ins and all that stuff. THIS IS HEAVEN or pretty damn close to it.

Wow!!! this is heartfelt. No doubt you've found true peace and happiness in your current lifestyle. It's remarkable that you made the decision to leave the hustle and bustle of a big city behind and found tranquility in a smaller community. The contrast you've drawn between the noise and challenges of living in Los Angeles versus the serenity of your current home is vivid. It's wonderful to hear that you're enjoying a peaceful retirement in a secure and age-restricted community. Here's to the tranquility and contentment you've found in your slice of heaven! 🥂 I'd like to know your home state.

Why is California the most populous state in the US? Who are the people living there? As people are leaving, so also are people moving in. The stats are right in the face.
