I would recommend you try and watch Buffy then. The first season is a little cheesy but if you can get past that it's a fantastic show. My all time favourite out of all genres 😊

Legacies is cool to, but the originals flr example, there characters were so well developed... Is not just teen drama, and neitheris legacies but, for now i think the originals are a little better than legacies. But Lúcifer, teen wolf, shadohunters, the vampire diaries of course ( originals and legacies are tvd spin off). Those are the best in my opinion

The thing is the originals is mostly seem like a minor sequel of the Vampire diaries and also many ppl stop watching TVD even before season 3 thats why the originals aren't so popular but the true fans knows its a good series I am eager to watch the legacies

Amber M. I seriously don't understand how anyone could think that teen wolf is worthy of any top ten list. the plot wad interesting, but the writing was sooooo bad it's funny. ridiculous dialog stupid/inconsistent characters. that show is objectively bad. couldn't make it past the first season.

@@malia7434 actually supernatural was a show that I habitually got into sometimes but I never remained into it. It always got old after a while with two brothers who always hunted things. I couldn't even stand how they made Sam out to be a drama queen. He always and to right and he always had to have morals which he sometimes broke. Dean had his own morals but he had good judgment, something sam never had like with Benny for example. He was a good person despite being a vampire. Sam didn't have the same judgment with ruby. Originals has vampires who have a bad past but they are likeable characters. Even Oliver the werewolf was redeemable as he was dying. Originals was heart wrenching, something supernatural has been in a while.

Buffy set the stage for shows like True Blood, Vampire Diaries, and Supernatural. It should naturally be #1. Buffy had (and still had) a huge influence on supernatural dramas and teen dramas. Seeing as it got snubbed from every major TV award show, I think it rightfully deserves to be known as the best supernatural TV show.

From a historical standpoint "Buffy" owes it existence to "Dark Shadows"!!!! Before Angel, Barnabas Collins was the ORIGINAL 'vampire with a soul'. If DS didn't hit the airwaves back in the 60s, there would be no "Buffy", "Supernatural", "Vampire Diaries", et cetera. DS did INDEED cast a huge 'shadow'.

No i would say both vampire diaries and originals had there peak moments but i would say that vampire diaries is the base you see Vampire diaries is more like the salvatoré brothers saga Where as the originals is more centered around the roots of the vampires and also the werewolves and the michaelson family But it was cool to see both series as they also "cross over" as both members of both cast appear in each others respective series And it leads to their new sequel legacies The thing is the original was created as a simple spin off just to explain the vampire world and the michaelson family story and also the Original cast are way too strong for the TvD cast thats why they maked a seperate show but it appear to have work and it leads to 6 seasons

So glad Buffy is number 1, truly an iconic show and I’m so glad it’s spin off series Angel was mentioned too, they are both top notch. Like Buffy tackled a part of growing up, Angel tackled what came after. Supernatural’s spot on this list is also well deserved, love it! Also I think Charmed deserves a spot in this list as well as The Originals, regardless of it being a spin off. It deserves being mentioned. The quality and character development in it is some of the best I’ve seen in recent times.

Grimm an honorable mention? It was a show that created such a rich and intricate world. All 6 seasons were strong in their own way with great storylines and characters. It had such a creepy atmosphere and it was fun watching the show evolve from Nick being pulled into the Wesen to the complex story it developed. I'm very disheartened that it was only an honorable mention

I can't say I agree or not with this 100% as I haven't watched all the shows listed. However I am and have been since I was 4 years old, a huge Buffy fan and always will be, so I'm immensely happy that it's been placed #1. Buffy was a pioneering show at the time for having a woman, with the looks and physicality of Sarah Michelle Gellar, the protagonist and the strong powerful hero, who would then become an inspiration for girls and women alike. The show set on some strong stories, that yes focus on the slaying of vampires and demons etc, but highlighted on terbulant real life issues i.e. rape, abusive relationships, substance abuse, suicide, grief, death (not by the hands of the supernatural), depression and sexuality just to name a few. Yes it's "special effects" aren't at the standard of supernatural etc, however the majority of the show was filmed in the 90s so the technology wasn't as advanced as it is now. The makeup however was outstanding and won awards. Just think of the talent needed for the designs and details needed aswell as the hours it would of taken also. Yes Buffy didn't run for as long as supernatural, however it didn't need to. Quality over quantity. They had said their story and was happy with it. I work in a local bar and the majority of the people we serve are 40+, if I was to talk about or mention Buffy they would know instantly what I was talking about or at least recognise it, even if they had never watched the show. I can't say I would get the same reaction with supernatural, TVD etc. This in itself shows the impact the show had. The acting was excellent also. Yes Sarah Michelle Gellar hasn't done much in the last decade acting wise, however she had starred in successful movies such as cruel intentions and Scooby doo. other costars like Alyson hannigan and David boreanaz have gone on to star in more successful tv shows also, this shows the level of talent used. I'm not saying the actors in any of the other shows are bad I'm just trying to show what I think is another good reason for the show to be number 1. If you haven't watch Buffy then I would highly recommend you add it to your bucket list of shows you need to watch. Also Joss Whedon is a brilliant director, screenwriter, comic book writer and composer. Not only does he have Buffy and Angel under his belt, he also cowrote toy story, wrote and directed for the first 2 avengers movies and is considered a creator, writer and director on agents of s.h.i.e.l.d. the is just to name a few, Google him for all of his success. I think I've stated my point enough and if i didn't mention, yes I am a huge Buffy fan and will fight for it always, just a little something a bit from watching the show 😊 (Side note: I should be asleep now as it's nearly 7am, but I had to say my part)

Supernatural is a great show. But if you haven't checked out Buffy, I would highly recommend it. Keep in mind the first season is campy (I can dig campy, so that never bothered me) but it's only 12 episodes and season 2 is a lot of peoples favorites. I'm partial to Season 6, myself.

+James Cheeks Charmed was an amazing show and one of my favorites too...but Charmed seems to have been forgotten whereas Buffy the Vampire Slayer is still being talked about. And although both were made into comics..Buffy seemed more well received by fans than Charmed. Unfortunately though maybe Charmed did deserve number one as the comics that were made are still being published whereas Buffy's are not.
