Well the way I think of it is like in real life, although it's possible, it's not very likely that all six of them would end up in a permanent relationship within ten years, and I think if they would've put one in for Joey close to the end it would've seemed rushed. Rachel has lived in all the other friends’ apartments but never had her own. She lived with Monica in the start, then lived with Phoebe for a while and When they’re house burned down she lived with Monica and Chandler a sport time before she switched to live with Joey. At the end she lived with Ross to take care of Emma

You forgot a few other facts. 1.) When Rachel and Ross are breaking up because Ross slept with someone else, the tears they shead were 100% real. They said that scene was so heart breaking to the point they were actually crying while filming it. 2.) In the very last episode, when Chandler asked where after Rachel asks if they want to get a coffee. Yes it was a joke because everyone knew they would go to Central perk, but it is sad at the same time since that set was torn down to make the scene when Ross and Phoebe run into the airport so Ross can admit his love for Rachel as she gets on the plane anyways. Those facts are very true and I'm a bit surprised you guys forgot to mention them.

I like how everything turned out. I still cringe when I see Joey & Rachel as a couple, I can't, it's like an involuntary reaction. I have the opposite feeling to Rachel & Ross. And don't get me started with Chandler & Monica, best idea the writers ever came up with. And Chandler & Phoebe are the funniest in the bunch, I'm glad they were included as main characters, I love watching them all the time. Most fave are the episodes were they're all included & together.

Okay, honestly? You decided to put Joey with RACHEL. Which God knows has to be the worst story line in the entire series. You even thought about putting him with MONICA. But, never ONCE did you think about maybe putting him with Phoebe? It may just be me, but I thought he and Phoebe had pretty great chemistry at times. I honestly wanted them to be a couple and wish they had. :(

Since Phoebe was always the most unrelated friend (she didn't live in the central apartments and wasn't related/knew a friend for a long time), as Rachel said "you faze right out". I think Phoebe and Joey's flirtation was more of a friendly thing, just a different way of expressing friendship.

Emma Ross and Rachel weren’t together but they had a connection. They always can’t back to each other! Ross was marrying Emily, said Rachel’s name!! Had a baby with her! Ross was still in love with Rachel when they got married in LA!!! No, they were not going out at any of these times but they don’t need to go realise they had a huge huge huge connection.

So when they wrote in Rachel and Joey‘s relationship the two actors were shocked and offended because of the real life actions that were well known by everyone in the cast.

I honestly don't know why the Joey/Rachel storyline was so poorly received. I think that they were adorable together. I was actually very disappointed when they decided they were too close of friends to be intimate with eachother/together. While that was a cute scene, it was disappointing, because it seemed like they really cared for eachother in a way that was more than just friends. And I really liked Ross and Rachel together the first couple seasons, but after he turned into a complete asshat, I wasn't really a fan of those two ending up together. Still, when they did end up together at the end, I was still happy just because I was so glad they didn't actually have her go off to Paris

The last line in the show where Chandler asks where to go for coffee was kind of a legit question. Apparently, they took out the central perk set for the airport or plane set for when Ross goes after Rachel as she leaves for Paris.

Actually Matt LeBlanc had a crush on Jennifer Aniston (Rachel) and the director got the idea when Joey was in love with Rachel and then he put them together. Also Cole Sprouse (Ross's son, Ben) liked Jennifer Aniston, yeah I know that she's way older than him, but he said that he had a crush on her and that he was nervous when she was around. I'm sure that a lot of people have a crush on her because she's a goddess and a sweetheart. Also, Rachel is my favorite from Friends❤️

I never liked Ross and Rachel as a couple. However I do think the writers deserve credit for moving the relationship along instead of them getting together and just keeping them happy without problems. When the writers took Ross and Rachel to the "break" it felt genuine and for the writers to actually break them up was bold seeing as that back and forth was the biggest story of the show for the first 3 seasons. They portrayed a relationship running its course and two people that didn't know how or if they would continue.

imperfectlypretty personally I liked them as a couple, it’s just their pride and childish egos got in the way of each other. When Ross made the Break joke on the final episode it shows he has finally grown out of having to feel right all the time

You can tell the show was written in the 90's because people thought Ross and Rachel were a good idea and the writers wrote Joey and Rachel to not be "right" for each other where as its clearly the complete opposite.

Also- Monica and Joey would have been terrible. But they alluded to that in two episodes: in the episode where Janice asked if any of them almost got together, Monica and Joey were interested in one another. Then the one with the truth about London, Monica reveals she was looking for Joey.

If they shot the scene when they are dancing in the fountain, why do I remember an interview with one of the castmember saying that they shot it on location and they could only shoot it at night (around five in the morning) because it was the only time they could block the are, and that the water was freezing... And that they didn't know the lyrics to the song, only the title, that's why we can see Jennifer Aniston mouthing "I'll be there for you".
