My favorite thing about retro/synthwave is that it is so fresh and underground I am discovering some of the best artists a year in to my journey. I started with stuff that I have come to find to be lesser known such as Duett, Robots with Rayguns, Kiile, and Future Holotape, yet a month ago I just found out about GUNSHIP, an artist that is apparently very popular and well known to the scene.

skeletank mcgraw I’m still discovering new synth wave artists, I love 80s synth pop so of course I fell in love with synth wave, le cassettes album is awesome, Jordan f is another favourite of mine

Timecop1983 really had a great album in 2018. Also you should check Lazerhawk - Overdrive, the synth solo is amazing there

De Lorra is one of my favourites, and I'm not seeing it any top 10 lists. They have a pretty small body of work, but I think that they have a bunch of extremely unique and evocative tracks. I highly recommend that you check them out.

Gunship introduced me to the genre and I have yet to find anything close. The midnight has a few songs I absolutely love, lazerhawk can be pretty dope and everyone else is on my playlist, but gunship man.... gahdamn. Not a bad song across nearly a decade of music? Not to mention Alex’s other projects are all awesome too? This dudes on another level compared to the competition.

There can never be a favorite, everyone has different opinions. But lazerhawk is the best thing that has ever come across my ears. And when you talk about Lazerhawk how could you forget (wolf and raven)?? come on man. Wolf and raven is the only thing that can come close to lazerhawk

She is in top 3 female vocals for sure. But she only made few tracks and a little bit more collabs and more than 70% is older than 3 years. New songs from her would be awesome and I'm waiting for them :D
