I love the Jamie moment. I believe in that moment we understand Jaimie and why he is the way he was. Not used to having people legitimately care about him. When roy stepped up immediately and gave Jamie that embrace that’s when Jamie started being a friend, and good teammate, and a good person. That was his pivotal moment.

Something that’s stuck with me ever since I first read it was how Jamie tenses up when Roy goes in to hug him. He’s not expecting a hug. He’s expecting another fist, and my heart breaks for Jamie every time I watch that scene.

Of course we all knew about #1. This moment makes me cry every time. Jamie was so lost, his teammates were confused and embarrassed by this scene and only Roy could do the most brave and heartwarming move. He doesn't talk much, rarely opens up about his feelings but when it's really necessary Roy is doing something like that.

Roy hugging Jamie was so out of left field and so amazing. It is arguably the toughest thing tough guy Roy Kent ever does in the show and it isn't done or shown on other shows. Or on the rare occasion when it is, the two just become best buds, like their previous issues never existed. This show hits so close to home because of how amazingly true to life it is.

Ted is what Rebecca thought Rupert was when they first started dating. Rupert is like a dark twisted version of Ted. He's charming, and makes people feel like they're the most special person in the world but he's just using people. Ted isn't. Ted just genuinely sees the good in people and he lets them know how special they are and that's why he's so infectious.

@Shenanakins
@Shenanakins Жыл бұрын
@@kellycunningham6815 absolutely. Rupert is a classic abuser. he is obsessed with the power he holds over rebecca. the fact that she broke free of his control is why he keeps trying to torture her and "remind" her of what she lost. when she dumped him he told her that she would be alone forever because he knows she is afraid of that. He isolated her from her friends and belittled her and controlled what she ate and wore. Rebecca having that much agency over her life is why he inserts himself into her life (buying shares of AFC richmond, trying to get access to the seats next to rebecca's seats, attending her father's funeral). i suspect thats why he had a child with Bex, just to spite rebecca who he told he didn't want children and made her waste the last of her fertile years with him.

The episode containing the Roy-Jamie locker-room moment is truly remarkable writing. The entire episode builds to that moment, and while it's mostly a developmental episode for Roy's character, we learn a monumental piece about Jamie's story and character flaw through the introduction of his father. Early in the episode Roy is confronted with the weight and importance of his actions in a moment of failure as a father figure to his niece, Phoebe. After Phoebe gets in trouble at school for swearing, Roy has a conversation in the car with Phoebe where he expresses his doubts to her as a good roll model, explaining how he didn't grow up with a strong father figure in his own life and how he views himself as a failure to her because of that. She promptly breaks Roy's narrative about himself by revealing how much she admires and looks up to him, sparking a new understanding in Roy about the opportunity he has been given as not only an uncle, but as a coach as well. After the Man City match, he sees Jamie's interaction with his father and immediately recognizes a key similarity between the two of them: Jamie is a product of his environment, just as Roy has been a product of his. In that moment, Roy realizes what Jamie has been missing, what he needs is affection, stability and affirmation, and that more importantly, he is the exact person to give that to Jamie. Roy's actions are not only monumental for Jamie, but for Ted as well. This moment unlock's Ted's anger, grief, and regret over his own relationship with his father, allowing him to have a key breakthrough on the phone with the therapist, "Doc" Sharon.

Underrated? Have you been living under a rock? Jason Sudakis has put himself on par with the greatest play-write of our time Aaron Sorkin. Sorkin has put out this quality of material his entire career, but has slowed down in recent years spending more time with his family. If Ted Lasso truly ends this year I hope Apple green lights Jason’s next project immediately. He only has so many work hours left. His talent needs to be nurtured and supported to get the maximum value for not only Jason and Apple, but for all the rest of us.

Not having the stadium scene on the list is crazy. Rebecca telling Ted “she’d still be underpaying him for how much he means to this club” is such an amazing toast to all that Ted has done for Richmond.

It's incredibly hard to narrow the list down to 10, but the one I would add is the "Hey Jude" scene. If you've ever gone through a divorce where kids are involved, you definitely get it. Especially if you were not the one who initiated it. Even though Ted has "let go" of Michelle, the thought of someone else being present as a father figure drives him insane. At this point, it has nothing to do with Michelle. It's all about him waiting for that final blow to the family unit that he loved and cared about so much. The anger and obsession is all about Henry and Ted's feelings that he isn't being enough for him while another man enters the arena to "take his place." Rebecca helps him direct his focus back where it needs to be...on Henry. It doesn't matter what happens with Michelle, Ted will always be Henry's dad, and that's the most important thing to both of them. I also love how Coach has a moment of vulnerability here. The tactical, fact-spitting, "don't let anyone too close" Beard goes from reciting the origin of the song to realizing his voice can help Henry get through this. You can see it on his face when he realizes it and he is almost reluctant to say it, but when he does, it is genuine and believable. It's just another of many great examples of writing, timing and acting.

That hug that made your #1 is underlined with emotion by the choice of that heartbreaking George Harrison song. The music is this series has been impeccably curated
