After 4 years in Bloomington I just wanted to share some of the most amazing places in town. If you find yourself in Bloomington for school or anything else, you should go to all of these places, you will not be disappointed!

Good list. Before the sample gates were put in you could drive right in past the student building and Maxwell hall to the back of the Union. I would have added the Nicks, the Irish Lion, and The Runcible Spoon. Like Kilroys, they have been there forever

Venturing out of campus is where u find the gems. As a resident since birth downtown is chalk full of things to do but the best things to do r off campus

Can you give more info ab the school? Is the social scene going to be lacking coming from california. Im taking a look at Kelley School of Business and wondering if I will be able to have a good college experience on campus, or if it will be slow/many students off campus. Thanks!

My daughter just moved there to be with her fiance who is pursuing his doctorate at IU (and apologies to anyone who might've been offended when I called it UI). They grew up in Central California, and I know that as students, they probably won't venture out too often, but when I and his mother go to visit, what are things that might appeal to mobility-impaired old bats?

I was pleasantly surprised by the Chinese food options here. I don't have to travel from Louisville to Chicago to get my fix. Bloominton is just 2 hours away

Where did you go to get Chinese food. I used to live there but now in Texas and there really is no good Chinese food here.

Seems really boring, if those are the main highlights (well the IU sports may be great), but otherwise it doesn't feel like a town of 85,000. Does the population census include the students? i also heard the city is pretty dead and many businesses close when school is out, so curious if that is true.
@lydiakeerl67173 жыл бұрын
That's so true :)
@GingerIndiana21 күн бұрын
You also have a movie theater, a big Mall for shopping, a public library, a theater on campus with musicals or conferences, a fine arts museum on campus as well as an arboretum, a big park with a section for children, sport facilities on campus of course and so many gorgeous trees all over town that give a breathtaking atmosphere in Fall but also all 4 seasons.

Bloomington sandwich co - is very expensive considering the very small portions, they need to really make their portions larger, very disappointing if you are thinking you can get full with 40 dollars for 2 people, surely not!

Why is Indiana state so dead compared to other states in the USA? I am attending there in a way but it's just so disappointed overall. Still prefer it to Ohio though :)

Can you give more info ab the school? What about the social scene seemed dead to you. Im taking a look at Kelley School of Business and wondering if I will be able to have a good college experience on campus, or if it will be slow/many students off campus. Thanks!

Indiana State? You mean the university?

It's a State of farmers. IU is not dead at all but if you prefer New York, it's a different life... Bloomington is a beautiful little town with a gorgeous campus. A great environment to live in.
