For those who are not into short drinks, I recommend pulke, which is also from agave. It has around 5% alcohol...taste really interesting, but not bad. also: Torre Latinoamericana is also a great destination. It is a skyscraper with a restaurant on the top (not actually on the top, but high). It is a great way to see the city from above.

Mexico City was founded by the azteca till the Spanish came to colonized it. I don't see why there would be Mayan temples in there, when the Mayans are way far in the south of Mexico (Yucatán, quintan roo, campe, and Central America). Bad info here. Mexico City is the Aztec city not the Mayan city. But I liked the attitude you guys had ❤️

Ricardo Martinez some parts of Mexico are indeed very very touristy, but I think people still see it almost exclusively as a beach destination (especially Cancún). I'm talking of international tourists particularly, not about domestic tourism. As an European I haven't heard many people going to DF o other parts of Mexico apart from those already popular and touristy destinations. Then, I could still be wrong

Use common sense and look out for your valuables like in any big city. Locals can tell you about no go areas but otherwise, have a great time! Use Uber to get around, its cheap in Mexico.
@Ggggc14
@Ggggc14 7 жыл бұрын
don't wear jewelry, don't dress nice, blend in (look at how other people dress and talk), try not to look too alone, watch your back and be aware of your surroundings. always be surrounded by people. Your camera, maps, and other things will automatcially distinguish that you are a tourist. have fun but be smart

Like any other big city around the world, keep an eye out for pickpocketers specially in tourist spots! I would recommend moving around with Uber instead of cabs. Enjoy your stay and if you need any help, call me up!

You missed two of the "must sees" of Mexico City and vicinity. The National Museum of Anthropology is the greatest museum in the country and one of the great museums of the entire world. (It's located in the Bosque de Chapultepec .) The collection of pre-Columbian art is incomparable. Also, 30 miles to the north of the city are the ruins of the ancient city of Teotihuacan. Going to Mexico City without seeing Teotihuacan is like going to Egypt and not seeing the pyramids. (It's pyramids rival those of Egypt.)

hey my dudes!! I leave in may for a 4 month trip through Europe! And I am completely lost on what type of bag I should get.. I'm mainly going to be travelling with easyjet and ryanair! Which the biggest bag easy jet allows is 50x40x20 (Im sure you already know this haha) And I dont know what backpack I should get... I am only going to be bringing one carry on backpack for the entire trip! Do you guys have any recommendations on which kind of brand of backpack I should get?! If so, thanks so much! :)

I live in San Miguel de Allende, so what I recommend for tourists is just walking around the city. The whole downtown area is considered a World Heritage place by the UNESCO and you can get to pretty much everywhere by foot. There are art galleries and interesting restaurants and stores in every corner. We also have an archeological site called 'Cañada de la Virgen' and the Atotonilco sanctuary (a church) which is also considered a World heritage place. Our local government has prohibited the construction of tall buildings or any kind of construction that doesn't follow the town's 'aesthetic', so anywhere you go to looks like it has come out of a history text book. The nightlife and food scene in San Miguel are stellar, and it is an ideal place to spend a long weekend. I personally recommend eating at Moxxi if you want to try experimental mexican cuisine by Enrique Olivera (Mexico's top chef), La Parada for some great Peruvian food and there is also a variety of farm-to-table restaurants all over the city. There are also a lot of different cafes and quirky restaurants that are perfect for breakfast or brunch. And of course, the mexican street food scene is alive and well in San Miguel, and you can find carnitas, street tacos, esquites, tamales, fresh fruit and artisanal street ice cream (which I highly recommend) all over town. I really hope you come to San Miguel, it is truly a beautiful place. The city is beautiful the whole year, but if you want to avoid tourists (there are so many of them that the town is hellish for us locals during high season) I would avoid coming during Mexican holidays and vacation periods, on the other hand the town truly comes alive during our Independence celebrations (15-16 Sept) and Day of the Death ( I adore San Miguel during Day if the Death it is enchanting to walk through the main square during those days) so if you don't mind the tourists I would recommend you to come during those dates.
