Hey Jon I live in CT about 2 hrs away by train from GCT. Been going down to the city for fun since the early 90s, now I’m taking my teenage kids down there. Have to say I love your videos, I’ve done many many of the things in your videos but a lot of them are new to me. I would say to anyone watching your channel who is a NYC newbie that yours is probably the best resource out there for getting around, things to do, etc. thanks for your channel hope to see you around Chinatown or dumbo sometime.

Leaving NYC for the Finger Lakes was the best thing I ever did. 25 acres of land with mountain views in my backyard. 100 wineries and breweries within 20 miles. Thousands of acres of state land of hiking. Letchworth State Park 20 miles away. The #1 state park in the USA. A no brainer.

Hello, I came to NYC over the 4th of July week! We stayed in Bedstuy, Brooklyn. Our go to place for eating was Peaches. Times Square was great, we spent two entire days just walking around midtown. We saw MSG, Grand Central (took awhile to find places inside of Grand Central), but we didn't do an observation deck since prices were higher on the 4th.

Interesting vids for me, also new information from a local. I spent 1st week in dec. 2023 my first time in NYC and my impressions were a "yes" & a "no". My friends asked me after arriving back to Germany how it was. But - i could not say definetely a clear 100% answer. I guess i have to visit NYC a 2nd time and then i will explore the non touristic parts of big apple, to feel the right pulse of NYC.

I love Coney Island. Go to the beach, then get a hot dog from the original Nathan's Hot Dog's. I also like Rockefeller Center, there's a rink and plenty of places to sit. As well as FAO Swartz if you have kids who want toys. Definitely catch a baseball game. I recommend a night game in Septmeber, not to hot or humid. Last game I went to I was Aaron Judge hit his 60th homerun and Giancarlo Stanton hit a walkoff grand slam to cap a Yankees 9-8 comeback win. AMAZING. Gonna be hard to top that sporting event.

Jon, I know you’re a Yankees fan and I loved the tour of Yankee Stadium but you’ve got to include Madison Square Garden. The tour of the Garden is awesome and then to go and watch a Rangers or Knicks game there is iconic. You’ve said before that tickets at the Garden are expensive, which is true but for tourists the Garden is a once in a lifetime experience and keeps me coming back to NYC to see the Rangers

For "the City that Never Sleeps" it seems like a lot of stuff opens on the late side. So many of the highly rated museums don't unlock their doors until about 11am, which can be a little frustrating for a tourist who wants to make the best use of their time. I'm thinking of visiting the Guggenheim on my upcoming March trip, but planning that day is made more difficult by their 11am open time. If they opened just one hour earlier it would be easy to have an 8am breakfast, stroll Central Park a little, show up at their door at 10am, spend 3 hours there, getting decent value for my ticket, and then leave at 1pm for lunch somewhere nearby in the UES. This would then leave plenty of time to also do other things that day in the city. As it is, an 11am open makes my morning too long and reduces the value of my ticket if I plan on being hungry at lunch time. Are they trying to make me eat in their cafe? Maybe I'm missing an obvious solution to my problem that doesn't involve just giving the Guggenheim a pass?
