I think it might've been beaten by the other entries on this list. But you're absolutely right about Violet saving her eldest daughter from an unpleasant marriage and lecturing her son about his responsibilities. I always loved Viscountess Violet Bridgerton( Best Bridgerton mother ever, hands down! ❤), but She became one of my favorite characters in Bridgerton after she saved Daphne from having to marry that creepy Lord Berbrooke.

That was such a beautiful moment… She was such an angel in that moment 🥹

I agree, I loved the scene where she made it clear to her family that she considers Kate her daughter too.

People don't like her because her character is self serving and judgmental. Meanwhile Violet Bridgerton and their family is respected and sought after because they are genuinely good people.

That and they are very wealthy unlike the Featheringtons who are on the brink of bankruptcy, they also have a higher ranking than them.

Dude Portia’s my favorite like idk why people hate on her she’s legit is the smartest .

Girl earned my respect there and added so much depth to her character (who I think is meant to be a foil to Violet). I hope we get more exploration of her character especially with Pen in S3

I honestly found that scene a bit harsh. Even if Colin was stuck in the past she had no business telling him that she doesn’t need his forgiveness. She honestly was about to do a very wrong thing with Colin by trying to trap him, the least she could do is be humble about it

EXACTLY. Ruth absolutely killed it in all those flashbacks. Violet was my mvp of the season for those alone.

There's a mistaken assumption that they fought over a man. Edwina wanted Anthony. Anthony wanted Kate. Kate wanted Anthony but she never placed her wishes over that of her sister's. She was selfless in that respect. The reason why there's bad blood between Kate and Edwina is because Kate wasn't honest with her about her feelings for the viscount which made Edwina feel like a fool. The reason why Edwina was angry with Kate is because Kate was taking decisions on Edwina's behalf and disregarding her own feelings. Please, let's get this right. If we're talking about proper love triangle, then twilight is the standard. Bridgerton's love triangle has to do with sisterly love and romantic love

@@Amy-cn4gl Thank you for your response. They actually claimed this themselves in their interviews, describing it as having passion & love for Kate and being endeared by Edwina. I counted the scenes. In the first episodes we see Anthony & Edwina first bond over their father's deaths (ep 1) and bond over their differences during tea (ep 3); whereas all Kanthony scenes are bickering & fighting over courting Edwina (barring ep1, I love those 2 Kanthony scenes in ep1). There is still no in depth conversation between them focused on the two of them (all convos are focussed on him courting Edwina) in ep 2 and 3. The first real conversation they have - not focused on Edwina- is in the library when he opens up (ep 4) but it was so short. Before this she comforted him during his panic attack, but no scenes of emotional connection build up to that moment. So the love triangle seemed very much there. And the big fight between Edwina & Kate, yes she is angry that Kate lied (you are right), but still they are showing two sisters fight after a failed wedding scene. And when she said "halfsister" I was just heartbroken. And i guess you're right in the sense that, it should've been that way, but I was really missing on emotional connection scenes of Kanthony for too many episodes into it while they were showing Edwina & Anthony connecting.

@@lie1272 well they bond over responsibilities as first born and death of their fathers, how can you miss such major points.

@@vvpawar23 I did not miss that. Those bonding moments are much more apparent in the book, not so much in the show. The first conversation about their responsibilities is by the end of Pall Mall in ep3 in relation to courting Edwina. And then the library scene in ep4 about their fathers, which was very short. It becomes more apparent in later episodes, but in-depth conversations focussed on their emotional connection is something I really missed in the first episodes, esp compared to him connecting with Edwina.

Also yes I've read the books and they needed to explore more of kathony's relationship and bonding over trauma, yes. But you saying Anthony and Edwina bonded over many things, when? Did we saw completely different shows?

Yeah she seems to love to point out the others are childish in comparison to her (she did it in season 1 with Pen and then in season 2 with Colin). She tried leg-shackling the poor guy in marriage when she already had a bun in the oven, she should have told him he didn't need to apologise because she was the one in the wrong.

​​​@@yoooox4She was not jealous. Atleast, not at that time. Maybe after she would feel something like that and she definitely doesn't hate her because of that jealousy. I think she still reveres whistledown for making something in this era but she hates the face behid it. Yes she loved Whisledown in S1 because she loved that a woman was running a business in that era. But after Marina's scandal even she said whistledown got a little far this time. She wanted to find the writer so she can make her do something good about Featheringtons. Then at the start of S2, she realises that all whistledown does is repeat the gossip. She now wanted to find the writer so that they could write something about Empowering women. She was angry at Pen because she felt betrayed and maybe even stupid at how she trusted Pen to tell everything, even her discoveries about Whistledown, that how every time she was a little bit closer, she was thrown off course. How would u feel when u r desperately trying to find some secret and u later know that your best friend knew that the whole time. She probably would have thought how Pen would be laughing all those times at her, while she was trying so hard to find her. Ofcourse she felt betrayed, stupid, maybe a little bit used. I am not saying she was right. Both were wrong in some ways, both were not being true friend to each other in some ways. No one was fully innocent and no one was villain.

I don’t think it’s unpopular ….an astute observation, I loved Charithra’s acting too; she, Jonathan and the actress who played Portia were marvelous in their depiction, very nuanced.

I love Simone Ashley but I have to agree. I don’t think charithra would have worked as Kate, but she is a fantastic actress.

How differently can Kate say 'vex me' when it's unable for her to breathe when he is around, they've clearly shown it many times they go out of breath when they are with each other and they have this sexual tension going on between them, it's irritating and exhausting for her to be around him so out of frustration she says that she hates Anthony and to me her facial expressions were right, they both are acting they hate each other but deep inside they're equally sexually frustrated and have feelings for each other.

Not only that but Lady Danbury truly cares about him. Look at how Portia has always treated Penelope, no caring there! So cold to her daughter, it's disgusting. That alone makes it hard for me to give her too much recognition!
