Prior to this video, it would have been Austrian actor Christoph Waltz who played the main antagonist in 'Inglorious Basterds' to chilling effect while speaking in French, English, German, and Italian. Though, I'd bet Trevor Noah could give Tom a run for the throne of 'Polyglot Prince', where Trevor always makes it a point to say a few lines in the language of his host country when he does a show while on tour; demonstrating an uncanny ability to duplicate nuances in dialect & accent while doing so.

@Jonathan Teh I don't know how this came into my notifications. But I disagree about Trevor Noah. He is great at accent replication, but he doesn't speak most of those languages. As a South African myself we ALL (regardless of race speak) 2-3 languages each. But that just makes him a normal South African, not necessarily a polyglot. Tom hiddleston is also the same (not a polyglot) except where he is from. Speaking more than English is "not normal "

Tom really is one of a kind, if only his work outside marvel wouldn't be so underrated, the man can act, sing, dance and he is so charming, humble and a very down to earth

Tom speaks french very well. He was in Paris one month ago to talk about Archipelago, one of his first movie, and he was impressive. I love the way he doesn’t fear to ask for help when he doesn’t know a word. He has a large vocabulary and his accent is adorable, so irresistible !

I love Tom Hiddleston ♥️ but he speaks most of these languages at a beginner-intermediate level. To be noted, there are some other languages he speaks fluently. He did graduate from Cambridge with a double first in Greek and Latin, after all.😅

Arrgh, my brother is exactly like that, he’s multilingual and self taught, it’s easy for him whereas I barely limped through German. Tom is very talented indeed

"Did an interview in another language“… Idk, I would have expected him to do the whole thing in that other language not just say a few simple phrases, which don't get me wrong, is cool too, but the title of this video is very misleading and clickbaity 😂

10 years ago, I did not understand this man’s appeal, because of MCU fan girls swooning over Loki saying “TH is my ultimate crush!” When I watched Hiddleston’s stuff outside the MCU - his other movies and TV shows, and his one on one interviews, I finally understood what all the fuss is about: He is a warm, respectful, eloquent and highly intelligent Brit, who has not let fame go to his head. ❤️ 🍻 As a fellow polyglot and language lover, I now appreciate him ever more. 🙌
