I greased my diffs on the 124019 it’s my first RC car and I heard it was good to do so I did and it was honestly fun taking it apart working on it and putting it back together. Definitely think I’m getting hooked on RC

I'm pumped I ordered 1 a week or 2 ago for my daughter it'll be her first rc that's all hers she's always afraid to drive mine even though I always tell her I don't care if they get banged up because fixing them is half the fun but I'm excited for her to get it next week and to start upgrading it with her little by little and not being afraid to drive it and not worry about tearing it up

Got mine today, the diff only had grease on the outside and was dry on the inside. I'd replace the diff housings with the metal ones, the upper brace bolts into it but has some strain to it. The plastic stripped right out on one of the screws when I fastened it the second time! I've ordered metal housings, hoping those holes will last longer!

Great series on the 124019! I'm fairly new to the RC hobby myself, just financed my sons Rustler VXL and lots of upgrades. Now finally ordered a 124019 to play with myself. In the Netherlands it is more difficult to get your hands on good parts and advice, so your video's are really helpfull. If you can share moren info on your foam tires and where you got them, that would be great,. Thanks and looking out for new video's from you soon!

If you already have an opentx multi module radio, then the standard esc runs on the xkx420 or tiger protocol. You just need to swap channel inputs on your mixes, I run mine on a radiomaster tx16s without issue due to the above 👍

What servo would you recommend (3wire)? I’m currently stalled on my conversion. I can’t seem to find one with the proper dimensions.

Mine just arrived. Had hardly any grease in diffs. Came with metal hex hubs not plastic. The rear metal shock tower was bent. But I ordered aluminium upgrade kit anyway so just installed that. Besides towers I’m using the alu hubs and caster blocks. Not going to install arms or turnbuckles. Steering rack upgrade is supposed to be a straight swap but stock doesn’t want to lift up for some reason

Hi sorry I have a couple more questions I want to get a drop in servo for the brushless upgrade what would you suggest ? Also where can I get another servo clip or that plastic clamp that fits around it metal or plastic any links would be great. What motor and esc for in with standard body also which hobby wing would be good? Thanks a million I’m starting my build this week just got the car

I am looking to do a motor/esc swap to a brushless one. Though im not sure if i will need to change my servo for it. Do you have an alternative servos that would fit this model that might be worth buying?

Keeping the stock gearing, I’m going to go brushless to run 2s and now and again 3s. What kv motor would you go for 3300kv or 4500kv. Looking at combo packs and they all tend to be one or the other. Many thanks in advance for the very helpful video.

Check the specs of your ESC. There are limits to what KV you can run. The motor size you choose plays a part as well. 4500 is fine on 2s. Most recommend under 4K for 3S and under 3k for 4s. Your esc manual or manufacture website will have that info. 🍻

My 124019 stops after 3-5 minutes of driving (fast or slow). Just steering stays alive. What's the problem? I'm new to RC cars, this is my first. First day of use was without this trouble. Thank I got some long hair rolled onto the axis next to rear wheel. I noticed that it made strong breaking force. I removed hair and put some WD-40 into wheel suspension. But it still stops after few minutes of play. It happens on original battery and also on the replacement pack (2x 18650)

Hi, With a 2845 brushless motor (4370kv) and a hobbywing 80A esc, do I get a higher speed than with the stock brushed 550 motor? Thanks!

i would say upgrades should be done if you feel you need them...but upgrades are nice for many that like getting the most out of their cars.

If know you are going to buy a bunch of upgrades, go directly to lc racing emb or tacon which is what this care is based off of. You will save yourself money in the long run with better gearing options and better quality in general.

what did you do about the servo? i cant find one that isnt either to small or to large to fit in the car. Cant use the stock servo as its a 5 wire

How do you keep the steering link from pulling out of the servo arm? On my 144001, the link pulled loose thr first time I hit something and then it was so loose that it come out if I even hit a medium sized bump. So I'm returning it. I literally drove it 2 mins and lost all steering. And continue to lose steering during normal driving on the smaller 144001. I have one of these purple ones on the way, though. And I noticed they use the same exact steering setup as the car I'm returning that broke. It has a steering linkage that connects to an end link and the end link is screwed/pushed into that plastic arm coming off of the servo. So, how do you keep that from pulling out? Or is this not a common issue?

Rich can you please share the mod 1 gears you used on your 144001 and this car? You never shared them on your other videos either. I wanna do the swap but I have no clue what gears to get. I'm at 73mph on the stock gears. Also if you could tell us the spacer you used on the spur gear that would be great. Great videos.

I use the 3s 2200mah gensace one in my 124019, there's a link to the gensace batteries in the description and on that page you'll see it. Hope that helps, they take more charge in than the mah on them! Which has to be good to my mind!

How can I have the most long range that is possible for my 124019.. I want to upgrade brushless with a new Esc so I need a new receiver and radio.. Which is the best?? Which has the best range? Should I buy a 2.4ghz boost like the immerson Ghost? Or are there any better? I definitely want to have a range more than 1 km.. 3 or more would be really good..

ok Richie, I have done everything as stated on this video except Mod 1 gearing. I am currently running on a 3S 80C 2200 Mah lipo, running a 3S Esc along with a 5200 kv motor, I have not changed the stock spur gear, I do have the contact tires as well. I have gotten about 74 or 75 at the most right now. Will Mod 1 give me a little more or should I go to the 4S electronics to reach that sweet spot of 100!!!! what say you????

Good to hear, now I would say I think a few more KV's would help on the motor front, when I ran the 104 it was with a 6900kv motor, the car's so light it'll handle high kv motors. That said the 5200kv motor will have more low down 'grunt' to push bigger mod 1 gearing. I have a car in pieces on the bench right now to test out a new 3d mod 1 spur someone has sent me to test - it lets you retain the stock center bearing, evidently some people have snapped driveshafts on mod 1 gearing, it's never happened to me on any of my wltoys cars but I've heard other have had issues but then I feed the power in on those speed runs. Or going 4s would definitely take you there!

contact foams either from amainhobbies on west coast or Nitrohobbies on east coast. 26 or 30mm but I prefer 30mm all round at speed. sorry for delay

Nice video. I’m pretty sure my stock hex’s are metal though. Still binds the rear wheels if I over tighten. Fronts don’t seem to lock up though.

Just got one of these and already I'm having issues. There's a weird steering and throttle delay. When I steer left or right it gets stuck for about 5-10 seconds. Anyone have any ideas on what I should look into for a possible fix? Thanks!

David, I have seen a number of other videos and they are just a 3mm shrew, and 10 mm long seems to be the one of choice with the head of your choice, phillips, hex, etc.

I bought one and it arrived with a dead ESC......banggood are very slow to respond to problems.

On Banggood, if you go to the help centre and message Banggood the replies are very fast. Just go through help centre and fill in the form saying what the problem is. They have a a reply guaranteed in 24 hours. The reply goes to the email you set the account up with. Hope this helps!

Yes, I did that. They responded initially, then went very quiet after I sent them details of the problem including the required KZfaq video of it in (no) action. Very annoying as I just want to drive the thing...

i like your videos, but you really need to upgrade your sound. it's so tinny and scratchy i have a hard time watching. other than that, good job

Hi I've spent over $600 on new mic setups over the years and am not buying anymore, check out the sound on the latest videos but literally I'm not spending one more cent on supposedly good mic upgrades, what I am using now works for me. Also note if your connection is poor YT downgrades the feed
