Ben Stokes dropped a catch at slip in the most recent Ashes where he actually caught it but hit his leg as he tried to throw the ball up in celebration and dropped it. I can't recall which game it was in but, if it was one of those that England lost, it could have been a rather costly. There was also a drop by Michael Carberry in the Ashes in Australia when Mitchell Johnson ran rampant. I think it was the second Test and England were in a position to get back to 1-1 but Carberry dropped an absolute dolly off Brad Haddin, then Haddin went on to score a hundred, England lost the game and ended up losing 0-5. I doubt that they'd have won the series anyway but even 1-4 would have been better than another 0-5. They may also not have been as quick to crumble in the remaining games if they'd won that one. Very costly miss.

That stokes catch was off Steve smith in the last over before lunch on day five of the last test, it wasn’t a skip catch I think he gloved it off a spinner to short square, I was there and at the time it felt like he’d dropped the test because we weren’t getting any chances, luckily after the rain delay he and the rest of the team got out and some brilliant catches were taken

@@zenokada2278, I have this image in my head of other fielders to Stokes's right when he put that catch down, so I thought it was at slip to a left-hander. If he was at leg slip or the like for a spinner to a right-hander then I guess those fielders were the keeper and first slip. Of course, my mental image may be misremembered anyway. Might have to look back at the commentary for that game to refresh my memory.

Might be part of match fixing, as Cronje and Gibbs, both were being charged for the same. Because it was the easiest catch, which was actually caught and then thrown to the field.

Now tell me who was responsible for the loss? There's no point blaming the hypothetical case of this catch, SA fked up big time in the semis, I am no expert, so are you, so let's agree to disagree, between I don't give two fks about what Steve Waugh has opined

Pakistan fielding is honestly a disgrace to cricket, even in the most recent series against Australia, they dropped so many match changing catches. Surprised they still qualify to play in test matches against top teams.
