they got away with the violin case because it IS a violin case. that was a common way for gangsters to move tommy guns.

It can if you place it in the right position. I know that because I have every minifigure from that series. In fact my favorite figure is the Boxer because of the gloves, helmet, and dual-sided face, while my least favorite is the Fitness Instructor because she was the most common figure I pulled and many of the figures' paint wore off.

You base your rating system too much on practicality and outside uses, along with whether or not it has new pieces, but you don't base anything on whether or not a character looks cool or would be fun to use. I think the point of minifigures is to get those figures they can't sell in sets, so you can use the minifigures that don't come with certain things, and make those things yourself. Lego is all about creativity, not practicality and usefulness. I respect your opinion, though.

8:23 well ususally, at least where i live, in the US, on the bananas at the grocery store there are little stickers of the brand on the banana, and they probably didnt have access to put an actual brand on there, so they just put banana as the brand.

The reason the new gladiator doesn't use the bronze (not gold) printed helmet, is because he's based on a different type of gladiator that doesn't use a sword but focuses on aquatic fighting (trident+net)

Not that he was a great 'mystery figure' when I got five of him. Plus 11:48 regardless of how many surfers came before him, that shark board is the best. And anyway, if some LEGO collector out there is putting together a 'beach party' or 'surf beach' build, they'll need more than just multiples of the same surfer over and over again, so having a whole bunch that _are_ actually unique enough to tell apart, is a good thing. 6:17 - Whoa, whoa, whoa... you call a bunch of relatively interesting minifigs in previous series "mediocre" because you think they're bland but "cute paleontologist who is a fresh design..?" She's one of the most bland designs ever, LEGO is full of generic khaki-wearing explorer types and she blends right into the background.

I don’t see the issue with gender swaps. It’s useful for someone who wants to have a female and male version of the archetypes. But of course they could do a lot more with the designs.

3:44 The reason they emitted the helm with the Roman Gladiator is because he's based on the Retiarius, a gladiator who used a trident and net who didn't wear a helm. The Gladiator from series 5, however, is very clearly supposed to be a Murmillo gladiator, who was designed perfectly - well, with one exception. The murmillo used a Roman scutum, meaning the Roman Soldier's shield should've debuted with this guy. Also, the Retiarius is wearing the armor on the wrong arm.

I gotta disagree on you on a number of these. As someone has already said in the comments, you base your rating on whether or not the minifigures bring any unique pieces, but you rarely consider the quality of their details. For example, the Dance Instructor has a torso that's printed on both sides, her legs are also printed almost all the way around (which is great because it shows off her rightfully tacky zebra leggings), her arms are printed with sweat armbands, and she comes with a water bottle with printing on it. However, you'd rather place it as a bad figure because you feel it's a copy of an already existing character. Plus, you ranked Corn Guy as bad and you're essentially just pissing off a cult by doing that.

LEGOunicorn829 Director Alan Taylor announced 8 days ago that he is done filming the live action ninjago movie but wait theres more,he even released the teaser trailer at comic con in san diego! I saw it so let me tell you what i saw! Ok so the teaser starts with this Green rusty looking truck driving through the desert while Ed and Edna sing along with the radio on there truck while jay is in the backseat listining to them,Jay rolls his eyes and looks towards the window and smiles. Ed and edna:🎵Oh rock me mama like a wagon wheel,rock me mama any way you feel,ohhh rock me ma🎵 But then all of a sudden the ground cracks and creates a huge gash and ed struggles to stop and turn the vehicle but luckly he succeds and stops the truck before he hits the ground that became a wall. The music from the trucks radio ends with an echo,Radio music:Heyyyyy,mama rock me...: And then the screen goes black. This mature voice starts speaking, Wu:I have one commandment for you...: Then the black screen lights up with a candle and the sensie says,Wu:Lead your brethren. Kai laughs nervously,Kai:im not qualified for: then wu laying tired on his bed interupts kai and says. WU:im wounded.in order to recuperate,i must rest.Lead them kai! Then kai looks at him worried and then the scene jumps with kai,jay and zane with a crashed D-bounty behind them,the camera turns towards this forest filled with strange silhouettes stairing at them with there bright green eyes then a pair of blue eyes appear in the middle of the forest and BOOM! The logo shows up NINJAGO 2020 Oh man i cant wait that scene with the 3 ninja ready to hit the forest looked awesome,it was raining and everything too bad they werent wearing there ninja suits,there were sporting normal clothes and i wonder where is cole and lloyd! Looks like kai will be the leader because sensie wu is hurt really bad,i could clearly see his left arm coverd with blood. As a historic Minifigure fan, I LOVE the look of the Highwayman. I also think that the natives and the Swashbuckler are great, but I can see why a lot of people dislike the Swashbuckler.

I think series 17 is a pretty good series I like the chef lady, hotdog guys for the new pieces, the vet, the butterfly girl, the dance instructor, and the rocket boy. I think they all have good pieces and prints but hey, that's just my opinion

I think it's a bit unfair to compare the Lego GB to the rest of them ~> it was a smaller, niche line which was meant to be an Olympic collectable rather than a Lego brand collectable. Or maybe my bias is showing through as I sent two hours with the shopkeeper feeling through the packs to collect them all. 😀

Basically this is a very biased list based 100% on your opinion and not of value to use in Lego. Gender swaps are boring to you, although many people like that because there were not enough interesting female characters in Lego when making sets. Your comment on the team GB series being 'redundant' ignores the fact that it was a series to recognise Team GB Olympians, not create unique types of figure. It was one of my favourite sets because I collected it in the run up to the olympics and it was perfectly in context with events team GB were taking part in. Many of the other figures you didn't like was just because 'it didn't do it for me' despite them being interesting and varied. Some of the updated versions were pointless, that I can agree on.

I actually like some figures for the reason you dislike them, essentially. I think its cool to have more generic figures that could be useful to build armies and things with. Having 10 warrior figures I can subtly change up and add to my builds is way more useful than having 10 chefs or 9 baristas.. and if you're collecting from blind bags, you're gonna end up with a lot of duplicates.

I personally like the food costumes, and I can find pretty good use for them. I combined the Downtown Diner set with the Sanctum Sanctorum set. Adding the pizza food costume man on the corner works well, as it looks like he’s advertising for the store across the street. They all have uses if you be creative.

I think you seriously underrate the looks, practicality and accessories of fantasy characters. The S3 elf (hairpiece, shield and longbow are awesome, though I was missing the quiver. A simple shouldercape+quiver would've looked much better), the S5 and S17 Dwarf(again, S5 with the helmet and shield, but S17's overall colours and hammer is great) S16 Ranger (great torso and leg design, nice to have the quiver+shortbow, intrestingly I think the S3 elf's cape would've looked better on him) S12 godess is massively underrated. Amazing headpiece, golden spear, great shield and chiton design, and also the S17 elf warrior. I do agree though with most of what you said about the rest of them, and understand that you prefer minifigures, that fit in a city setting. Great video

Hey J2G. Great videos. Just an FYI: Gangsters in old movies used to carry tommy guns in violin cases. It was a stereotype Also the lifeguard's aren't carrying boogie boards. Those are the more modern life preservers they can throw out to give peeps something to float on. Easier shape to carry than a big ring Disregard if this was mentioned already

I understand a bit of why the Lego movie mini figure series is there, based on your criteria, how good and or useful pieces/accessories and good faces you get. But I like the Lego Movie mini figure series based on their characters in the movie :D

Lego mini figures are really expensive! (£2.50) Lego mixels are £3 and you get so many more pieces!

I never was a fan of collectible minifigures unless it was the licensed ones or based on movies, series 14 is literally the only exeception where I got all the minifigures that were not licensed, for series 11 I own the Scarecrow, which was great, and for series 17 I own the Highwayman and Yuppie, the Highwayman is awesome, but the hype was underwhelming and pointless for it. The Yuppie is another one I like because it has a Miami Vice style to it, not to mention both you and I Justin are Floridians. Can you also say Paradisa? LOL

4:27 I think they got away with it by presenting the violin case as a secret compartment for his gun because in the character enyclopedia they mention that it's a gun compartment, not a body bag

A few things: 1) That's a circus ringmaster, not an animal trainer. 2) The mobster's violin case was used to hide a tommy gun, not a body. 3) The marking on the banana suit guy was probably inspired by the stickers on Chaquita brand bananas, and it tied in nicely with the guy on crutches, who had a banana on his shirt. Sorry, but I gave up on the video halfway through it.
