The new ending's message seems to be that we don't have any say in what we do. It doesn't matter, so just go with the script Ekimu read ahead of time. That just... burns.

Makuta's defeat could've been handled like the Bohrok-Kal. Think about this: *Makuta escapes *He yeets Ekimu out of existence *There is an epic final battle with the Toa where he keeps growing more powerful *Makuta's power becomes so unstable he destroys himself *There LEGO, fixed your plot.*

You’d think that if Makuta knew the prophecy, he’d also know that the Toa would have to sacrifice themselves to rebanish him (a status he’s already in anyway by the beginning of G2). With that in mind, you’d THINK he’d tell them this bombshell fact of the prophecy, while leaving out the true nature of their beings, in 2015. This could easily make the Toa hesitate in the beginning of their journey, but no.

No 1 - The ending occured

The word part was the feeling of being betrayed. They promised to bring back a huge theme, then killed it off in the most unceremonious way possible.

In all honesty, the best part about the last two episodes of Journey to One was Makuta's Theme which you can find on Mike Raznick's Soundcloud.

Well for me the worst thing about the G2 ending is that probably LEGO won't try again to revive this ip and we won't see G3, what is really sad considering this is G1 that saved them from bankrupting back in the 2000s

I think LEGOs primary problem as to why many of their lines flounder after the first wave is because they only plan for the first year and then if its successful they make another year, and then repeat until it doesn't make enough money anymore. I think LEGO should really commit to new lines and have fully planned out stories for the entire line, some of the gimmicks the want to introduce at some point nad rough ideas on the sets themselves, but only release the first line to see if the idea takes off, that way the story is planned out so if it does take off they know where they are going and don't pull a Hero Factory where they completely change the line, which was completely stupid and missed the point of the HF line.

G2 wouldn't be that bad if they DID 2017.

G2 was just handled so damn poorly overall, and I truly feel like it's because the team that was in charge of managing, and making it just.. Weren't the kind of people that needed to be there. It felt like they saw BIONICLE as a joke half the time, like they barely looked at anything from the past to use as a general idea besides names, the virtues, the general idea of the Toa, and that there was a Toa of light. That's not even mentioning the fact they had so much damn confidence in the theme that they spent MOST OF THEIR DAMN BUDGET on solid gold masks, and barely advertised the damn theme, so very few people knew about it until it ended! Yeah, 2001 had a gold mask contest, but that was for a single Golden Hau, not a cold version of every damn mask in the wave 1 line. I think the only mask they didn't make gold was the Protector mask, but even then I don't know. This hurts so much because I had a soft spot for the Protectors, and I did plan to buy even duplicates of 2016's sets because I LIKED THEM! They were good! I only got Tahu, and Kopaka from 2016, and I did find flaws, but after a few limb bone changes, the sets were fun to play with! I couldn't even get Umarak because the day I planned to buy him they just.. Didn't have him. they didn't plan to order more, either. I couldn't even buy the set on the store, and I had to resort to means so underhanded as lying to LEGO about having a broken mask of control by itself just so I could have a full set of golden masks. You know.. Besides the mask of ultimate power... Thanks for that middle finger, LEGO.. I hate how disrespectfully this line that saved LEGO's ass was treated when it did start to show some potential. If they bring if back for a G3, they better pick people that will give it the care, and thought the line deserves.

I think the worst thing about the cancellation of G1 AND G2 is that Bionicle runs on the sets. When no more sets were being made, the story had to stop. Why? Why couldn't both generations live on in online stories that don't cost Lego anything to make? G1 tried to do this, but only made 3 stories and only 1 was ever finished. It really sucks that the story and the sets HAVE to coexist, because in theory, the G1 story could still be going strong to this day if Lego allowed Greg Farshtey to keep writing. As for G2, the story ends with the Toa essentially dying. There's barely any story potential now. I actually like G1's cliffhanger ending because it opens so many possibilities for the fans to keep the story going and think "what happens next?" But G2 just destroys that thought. It just ends the story right then and there. That has got to be the most disrespectful way to end the story for the fans. Not only is it over, but there's nothing left to happen. Also, speaking of disrespect towards the fans, you should've talked about the mask of ultimate power sticker in the Ninjago city docks set. If G2's cancellation was a punch to the gut, then that set was like a knife to the heart.

To be honest, I really liked the Bionicle 2015. Sure, they were like Hero Factory, but with some kind of unique personalies. The animations were a bit weird and the enemies didn't really put up much of a challenge, but I really enjoyed it.

I haven't really been into Bionicle when LEGO announced the discontinuation of G2 but I recently reread the website post and.. I honestly think that this run ended on a high note. "We would like to thank you for taking in LEGO® BIONICLE® Generation 2 and sharing all your builds, stories, artwork, joy, criticism and praise. By doing so you have not only expanded the universe but also made the amazing BIONICLE® Community even stronger and more amazing. We are confident that you will ensure that BIONICLE® lives on." They didn't have to say the last part. They could've said something like" you know, there are other Lego themes" but they haven't. Like you said at that time, "Bionicle is about the community" and we don't have to wait for LEGO to do something, because LEGO has faith that we will be doing it and by that we continue to carry the torch. Journey to one has an animation similar to newest mecha anime... no mouths, suspicious CGI, and very toylike, very mediocre.

Not getting a Makuta set for either his final form or mask maker form was a Real kick in the teeth

when you look at the story. only the second graphic novel and third book where great and did great things. the second book was also good but the rest was just a rehash of stuff we seen before however the first one adding more to the first 1/2 of the story for 2015. TJTO episode 0 was a redo of the shorts and was alright. episode 1 was okay. episode 2 was great. episode 3 was great and 4 was the rush messed. its almost as if episode 3 was done already and it was the start of 4 they had the rewrites. if this had been done over more time for both the episodes and kept to the cannon already there. at first you would think a top ten list is not needed for the ending but so much was done wrong it needed it. the theme was shot in the foot from the start and ended in the worse way you could get. i hope one day a book like brick by brick comes out that details what happened for g2 behind the scenes. another great video.

I think G2 made a compelling argument that sometimes no ending at all is better than a bad one. G1’s was a tiny bit rushed, sure, but it made sense, was reasonably satisfying and open-ended enough for fans to continue it on their own. G2’s, on the other hand, was just utter nonsense.

Unfortunately this is what BIONICLE will now be remembered as aside from us. Because we wanted it back and Lego was unable to deliver the continued success of its first iteration. They announced the cancellation in 2009, which showed Lego cared about and handled it a lot more the first time round.

I must say that I reacted better to the cancellation of G1 better than that of G2.

I still remember when the rumors spread out and when the theme ended. I remember the Biogram community (BIONICLE Instagram community) when the theme ended. I believe there was only one person that grieved it, but I don’t remember. I was one of the few that believed the rumors, but held it with a grain of salt, and even when I was excited for the second season of JTO, I sensed something would happen, and it did. Now, I’m just doing other stuff and not paying much attention to BIONICLE, since something called burn out is a thing. I still make BIONICLE MOCs, but it’s on occasion.

I legitimately BAWLED when I first saw the jto ending. I knew it signified that this line, that I loved so much that I bought every single set including polybags (I wasn’t very old when g1 was going on so I only got a few each year). I put up my 2016 sets in a big display at least a week in advance and wanted to wake up at midnight to watch it. Unfortunately I was forced to go to scout camp for a week, so I only watched a day later.

I didn't like Bionicle G2 as it seemed like a Knock Off Bonkle.

The Entire ending for The Journey To One was extremely disappointing. The Shadow Realm and Prophecy of Light was definitely major plot holes. And the Final Confrontation with Makuta was very anti-climatic and the fact he didn't even emerge properly definitely made this scene that was supposed to be memorable, laughable. Also the voice acting sucked and we never received a Mask Of Ultimate Power. The biggest shame that remains is that the 2017 story was very rushed and became a mess of a conclusion.

*_WOW,_* The LEGO Company sure really did dissed the LEGO BIONICLE community with the abrupt end to Generation 2, and it even did so without really any warning whatsoever there!!! I would like to suggest a new ending. Ekimu is rebirth of takanuva and makuta is a rebirth of makuta Teridax. After the original bionicle universe (G1 ) is done, takanuva and makuta were put in a state of limbo until the universe was rebooted (G2). Takanuva became Ekimu and that is why he sort of knows what’s gonna happen. Makuta in my ideal ending it would’ve shown that makuta would’ve tried to tell the reincarnated toa that this universe is about to end and try to stop them (G2 cancellation and Lego team cancelling it) Takanuva would’ve wanted this world to end so he could get his old universe back and get his old friends back and make the toa fulfil their prophecy, banish makuta and end the universe.

Goddamn ZAKTAN knew to destroy Makuta's plan mural when he found it and read it, and Makuta himself didn't do the same?

I am a huge bionicle collector. Been collecting since I was 6. Bionicle had so much potential in the story line as hlthey were doing an actual cool new style animation Instead of cartoons. Then they decided to add crap dialogue the whole way through and have the unity duty destiny emphasis the WHOLE TIME. It got annoying the first episode. Worst part of they make ekimu incredibly weak for his new armor etc. And they make makuta get banished with a unity beam??? What is this? Lego: here guys. This is the last series. The ending is TWO EPISODES LONG, and it basically turns the story into a never ending circle. Yay.

its so sad because the figures were actually good and what ccbs should have been not like hero factorys simplistic uninteresting design, the poor story and marketing ruined G2, and the most weirdest part of the story is thatwhen Gali is in the shadow realm and finds out how to defeat makuta is just so stupid, why would you put a way to defeat you in your own world. thats like making a computer password and leaving the password out in the open for everyone to see. The least they could've done was given us a Makuta set with the MoUP. That would've eased the transition. And here we are in 2018 with no new constraction theme. Star Wars doesn't count. This is why I buy more Mega Construx now.

G3 is such a big pipedream of doubt. They the would need attempt a new character ball building system. The ccbs parts and all G1aren't made anymore. Creating a army of new specialized molds for a G3 with a chance of a very fast failure is too risky. They would have to rely on the bricks and plates but it makes them more expensive and won't feel right. The Tahu and Takua was OK but they were a limited purchase for a lego online purchase of 100 dollars from their own other themes that is PURE GREED for a set that's actually 20 dollars worth.

Disgraceful to the source material. Lego responds to the resurgence of the line that carried them through what could have been their last years only to stab the series in the back and make it as basic and boring as possible. Oh yeah let’s make more goddamn skeleton villains, like we haven’t done this one before. Then we got more “beasts” with elements, yeah these villains aren’t very interesting and in my opinion don’t look good. The toa look amazing and would have made any past fan look in awe, but they are just husks of personality’s and it felt really basic like half their lines, which is fine except this is supposed to have unique and fleshed out characters instead of more copy paste generic characters. Such a waste.

Upon viewing Journey to one, I've found that you get the exact same boring unsatisfied feeling you would get if you watched Transformers Combiner wars

I’m just sad it was handled so poorly. From the looks of the concepts, at least, the people designing the concepts and the sets all seem to really pour their hearts into their work to try and add a new spin to Bionicle, and it all looked really cool with some great stories to tell, but I guess, at least I kinda hope, input from higher-ups made everything a bit dumbed down. If that’s the case, I kinda wish that input was never really made. If LEGO took the risk, G2 could’ve been something really cool, and it’s a shame that it’s just an issue of “what could’ve been” now.

I know, G2's ending actually sucked. But, if we all keep on pestering lego and showing interest in constractions sets, maybe even show them all the mocs we created with bionicle, then maybe they might just bring bionicle back. Who knows, there could be a G3 yknow? But, what I think would be absolutely amazing?? If lego re released every bionicle set in stores for bionicle fans everywhere to buy. they could also reinforce the 2006-2007 pieces so the community could have better mocing potential. Bionicle was a part of my childhood as much as any of yours, and I want to see it come back, or even get re released sets, or even a new constraction line.

I would change summer sets with Makuta G2. But not like Krika and others. I would rather get desing for unknown ones. For example Tridax, Kojol, Miserix and others like Helryx or the second wave of G2 I would rather have G2 toa Ignika, Metru or even Dark Hunters.

the whole "destiny" thing in G2 was done WAY TOO specific on what would happen, so specifically that Makuta should have been able to just alter his plans to avoid it playing out. Like posting guards or some way to prevent Gali from seeing it. Destiny was done much better in G1, because it was vague, We knew what certain characters Destiny's would be in the end, but not HOW they would achieve them, for example: The Toa Mata, all we knew was their Destiny was to awaken Mata Nui, no one new EXACTLY HOW it would be achieved, same where know one knew Teridax's destiny was to take over the giant robot and end up helping Mata Nui restore Spherus Magna whole again. Teridax accidently caused Bota Magna and Aqua Magna to start moving into position where Mata Nui finished the task when Teridax lost. For all it's problems, I still like G2 for what it was. It was much simpler with really cool looking sets, a unique but simpler story, and it had potential if they would have done the ending much better.

I'm actualy supprised that not even you noticed the fact that Ekimu was nerfed. In the 2015 animations Ekimu was a badass, he defeated Skull Grinder WHILE he was wearing the mask of creation and was powerful enough to wipe the toa out and destroy their masks with ONE SWIPE. And AAAANDDD!!!!! In the 2015 animations they said that "Ekimu needed the mask of creation to beat Makuta." So Ekimu was supposed to fight Makuta not the power range-... I mean thr Toa uniters. Insted they nerfed Ekimu and made him a pathetic dude who can't even beat a lone beast. THOSE GUYS CAN BE KILLED WITH ONE HIT!!!! Come on Ekimu.... don't be lame...

I am a Bionicle fan, but I avoid anything G2 like the plague. It just looks so disgusting! The bulky figures, the tacky gold armor, the garish color schemes… Bionicle was always so cool to me because of the way it made sci-fi cyborgs feel ancient and connected to nature. These things don’t look natural at all! They look gross.

Shame that G2 ended this way, but I am not surprised. Being that bionicle is a toy line, I would think the writers would treat it as such. However, I would rather have it over then it be further degraded, especially if any one of them get corrupted by identity politics bullshit. Oh, I would hate to see that. Maybe in the future with things get better, but for now, much like halo, best to let them rest.

This whole Generation 2 was an mess. It had nothing to do with the Bionicle I grew up with. When does this take place? Is Okoto Mata Nui or something else? Where are the Matorans and the Turagas? Where are the big Rahis like Manas, Nui Jagas, Nui Rama's, Kane Ras and Muakas? I pray we get an Generation 3 in the future but not this all happy and childish version where the villains don't have any depth or character arch. Back in my days we had villains amazing such as Makuta Teridax, Bahrag queens, Nihdiki and Kreka, Sidorak and Roodaka.

Honestly, I was perfectly fine with G2 ending when it did. Looking back, the ending was pretty dumb, but I enjoyed JtO at the time. At least we got a clean-cut ending with this go, not like the slowly decaying mess that G1 became.

The worst thing about G2's ending is that it inspired fans to create a G3 but it turned into nothing but arguments about legs. Destiny, Duty, Unity! Toa! Rahi! An island with color coded tribes on it! Lady Lewa! No man, legs; they are the only thing that matters.
