From RVD getting busted after winning the WWE Championship, to Triple H taking the blame for the curtain call. Some of these superstars careers recovered from their burial, and others didn't. Would Bob Backlund count? He was champion for like 4 years straight but refused to lose to Hogan so they got Iron Sheik to be the middle man of sorts by beating Backlund then losing to Hulk a month later. After that Backlund was gone for over a decade until he got brought back as the "I have never eaten marijuana" guy.

He also did go on to have a good career in TNA as Mr Anderson after ne left WWE. That's one thing this guy seems to not understand, there's OTHER wrestling promotions then WWE still out there and he acts like of someone leaves WWE, they're sitting on their asses doing nothing but picking their asses or something. There's plenty of options. They can go to New Japan, TNA, RoH (when it was still around), and more recently, AEW. I'm sure there's others I'm not thinking of, but many wrestlers actually make more money and do way better on the Indies or in these other promotions then the ever could in the WWE.

WWE did two things to protect themselves from that lawsuit. 1) the standard disclaimer that the opinions of people featured in the video do not reflect those of the WWE and 2) they didn't say anything that wasn't true. yeah, they focused on the negative stuff, but it was all factually true or someone's opinion. therefor, not slander.

Slander has to actually hurt you financially for you to sue for damages. Warrior's career was long over by then. Also the entire thing was true, they wanted positive stories from the wrestlers originally to make a documentary celebrating his career. Nobody had a single nice thing to say. A factual expose isn't slander. Iirc he did try to sue though, I don't think it went anywhere.

In the case of Jeff Jerrett, though Vince did bury him, Jerrett didn't stay buried as this video implies with it's WWF/E centric commentary. Jeff Jerritt did bounce back by launching his own wrestling promotion - TNA, which very nearly went on the road to rivaling WWE in the mid to late 2000s, but bad decisions by the new owner, Dixie Carter, including trying to go head to head with WWE too soon, led to them never really making it there. Still, TNA is that reliable mid tier promotion that seems to have more lives then a cat. It's like the William Afton of wrestling, as it always comes back. RVD also did go on to have a good career in TNA after he left WWE, speaking of which.

The ref did it all on his own, Vince had nothing to do with it. He was an MMA fan and could recognise a legitimate kimura when he saw one, so he acted swiftly to end the bout and save Angle's arm and face.

@@AzraelSWFC2011Kennedy had great mic skills but he was not a threat for Cena and Orton dude. Like it or not Cena and Orton have the Hollywood celebrity looks which helps them a lot with the casual audience. Nobody was taking Cena's number 1 spot on the company and Orton took the number 2 spot of the company from Batista at that time.

every wrestler that ever lived slipped up at one point. hogan steroid scandal, piper doing movies, macho man sleeping with stephanie, warrior blackmailing vince, bret hart refusing to put shawn over, shawns drug addiction, stone cold refusing to put brock over, kurt angle drug addiction, chris benoit and eddie guerrero personal issues, cm punk backstage problems. pretty much everyone has either slipped up with negotiations, slipped up on the mic, slipped up in the ring, got addictions, left for hollywood or took too many risks. everyone fails themselves in the end.

I don't think Triple H should be on this list as it was the punishment he received and taking the punishment on the chin that earned him his stripes and respect by both wrestlers back stage and Vince himself. It's highly likely Triple H might not have even made it as big as he did or would we have gotten the infamous Reign of Terror that cemented him as the top guy in the company for years to come eventually leading to him becoming the big boss all together later on if Triple H didn't take the fall in 97 from the Clique scandal.
