i think he was faking it, you can see in many of the shots how his "jerk" comes in kinda late. i hope this isn't the case but I actually think he was using it as distraction or "excuse" for his not as good shots. which, if that is the case, is kinda scummy

You can see that it only happened when he did jumps when he hits shots, which he does for most forehands but not backhands, so it had to be something up with his shoes

logically , I think Novak couldn't control his back, that's why he was always leaned back when hitting a shot. just my opinion. he couldn't control the shot, maybe that is why it was super heavy for him to forehand.
