For anyone interested BTS sold 208,802 albums in May and have sold 1,338,322 albums so far on the Gaon chart in 2022. I can't wait for Proof to join this chart.

Halfway through the year and Red Velvet still remains the best selling girl group! (Yes, I’m aware that Blackpink, Twice, Itzy, and Aespa haven’t had Korean/English comebacks yet and will probably outsell RV. Just let myself and other Reveluvs appreciate this moment since we rarely get to lol)

Love it, great artist, the boy groups are very talented amd cute, the soloist too, i am very grateful to South Korea, great music, awesome artists. Technically, shouldn’t the lim Youngwoong, and the trot kid (and maybe a few others idk) not be here? It says kpop. Unless you want to change the title to Korean albums from here on out.

"Korean albums" wouldn't be correct either since I don't include classical musicians on the chart Trot is still pop music in Korea so I think it should still count, I always include trot songs on the music video charts so I think I should include them here too

@@nakynaki id say kpop is an industry rather than a genre. there are ballads, rap and rnb in "kpop" but its not separated into different categories. in korea, they refer to it as "idol music". kpop basically just means popular music, anything that is mainstream in a sense so trot would fall under that umbrella term.

Theres many boy group can sold over hundred thousand but most of them are unrecognizable to the public/knetz. Meanwhile for girl group theres a lot of new gen were getting so much attention even when the sales isnt that much compare to boy group.
