u mean bts, blackpink (maybe twice) are the backbone of kpop. ur literally the one starting the competition. bts and blackpink being 3rd gen have nth to do w them becoming popular. now, 3rd gen videos don't get as many views anymore even tho they've been around longer. i like a lot of 3rd gen groups but i can admit 4th gen is quickly taking over. w/o bts and blackpink, 4th gen groups would easily be bigger.

@@c4tracha bts got popular because they make GOOD music with amazing lyrics and message that appeals to more than just kpop fans. Combine with the fact that members are extremely humble and open. But the main reason is their music. They make genuinely good music which is something that cannot be said for many 4th gen kpop groups. And yes it DOES have to do with generation because thats the whole reason for the distinction between generations. Why do you think 3rd gen lasted nearly a decade? Because of changes in the music idols made. There is a clearly pattern and difference between the music of 3rd gen groups and 4th gen groups. With exceptions of course. And yall always keep saying all these “what ifs” like that literally means nothing because its not reality
