This list is definitely created with love, but you do have some huge omissions. How could you not include the Road Warriors and what about Sgt. Slaughter? The Warriors directly influenced Ultimate Warrior and Sting and was the direct reason Vince even created Demolition. Sgt Slaughter challenged Backland for the WWF title to start the decade, went to Crockett won the NWA World tag team titles, broke people apart to win the US title. Return to the WWF with his legendary feud with Iron Sheik and then at the heart of the 80s becomes the living, breathing G.I. Joe winning the American title for the AWA. Sarge was sooo over that Vince couldn't turn him heel again until his contract with Hasbro had expired in late 1990.

Flair was the big fish of the small pond. If Flair had went to WWF in the 80’s he would’ve been leg bombed and then started feuding for the IC title. Truth is the truth. Look at it this way, WWF had no room in the main event for Steamboat who was Ric Flairs equal in WCW.

Any top 10 that ranks Bockwinkel's '80s work ahead of Piper's '80's work is suspect. Who cares about title belts, wrestlling is as a work. Everyone knows who Piper is.

@@mikedemenchuk7717 Piper was second to none on the mic and good in the ring. I am a big fan of Piper. That said, Nick Bockwinkel's in-ring work was amazing. I'm not saying Nick Bockwinkel wasn't great, but he was kind of an old guy by the '80s. If this is a ranking of best guys of the '70s, he's top three. Piper was by far more consequential in the 1980s, in Charlotte and Atlanta as well as the WWF.@@gregorykrug8034

@@mikedemenchuk7717One of the strikes against 1980s Bockwinkel is that he was in the AWA. Even as a kid (kind of knowing that wrestling was a work), I thought it would have been much better if Piper had won the belt from Hogan before Wrestlemania I, and Hogan could have won it back in the main event. Instead, we got the Mr T nonsense. Bockwinkel and Piper were both amazing heels, and so-so faces imo. When they were used properly, both of them thrived.

I probably would have ranked Studd a bit higher, if nothing else because he was the winner of the 1989 Royal Rumble and he did hold.his own against Andre. Do you suppose his face run in 1989 bumps him down some? I liked it a lot but I understand why sime fans didn't take to that, especially with John being at the end of his career, sadly. The way you describe Magnum is more befitting of Rich. Rich was the biggest babyface the NWA had during the 80’s. Magnum TA was supposed to do what Rich actually achieved. If Magnum had what it took he would’ve blown up before the accident. Also number one is Ric Flair? The guy wouldn’t have been a top 5 player in WWF. Hogan, Andre, Piper, Savage, Warrior. I was reading through some comments and wanted to point out that some of the wrestlers people, say were left out were left out because they were bigger stars in the 70s or 90s…not the 80s. However, as much of a dick as he might be, I think Hogan should be #1. He put wrestling on the map and if weren’t for him, people would WOOO for Ric Flair in the 2020s.

Bro thank you! You get it! There's guys that f8t better in other decades, some of these guys would not be even close in other decades. Once again, can't love this comment enough!

@@ProWrestlingPlanet People need to appreciate that coming up with 100 wrestlers in just the 80s is tough and finding pictures and video is also tough.

Warrior shouldn't really be on the list for the 80s because his run was really in the early 90s

Great video. With that said….Are you crazy? Kevin Sullivan at 53? If the for real heat and asses in seats counts at all, Flair maybe has him beat for whole decade. I don’t think so tho, just thinking Florida wasn’t a huge territory.

Jake the Snake Roberts not in the top ten is an absolute travesty. He was easily one of the biggest stars of the 80s. Only one clearly bigger than him in the 80s was Hogan....maybe Andre. He was right there with Savage and Piper (who is also placed too low on this list).

Very balanced look between North American promotions but could have included some Japanese wrestlers. Some guys like Harley Race were bigger in the 1970s and shouldn’t have been that high on the list
