btw sheoldred and avarice can be used on your opponent for a quick 9 damage over the top for 3(!!!) mana, 11 if you count the card they draw on top of their turn. it's a fringe case, but if your opponent is tapped out or you know they don't have any interaction it's a really nice way to end games. this deck is just more proof why black is the best color.

That's some insane synergy - you are right! Didn't think about it tbh, but that's pretty insane lethal potential - this play will deal more damage than direct "corrupt", not even counting Sheo's attack. Thanks for comment - would definitely miss it!:) Best is probably the most versatile colour for mono deck - has pretty much everything. And I don't even mind it :)🖤🦥

This is control deck, bats are mostly for aggro decks to get temporary advantage/short term mess up draws :) Here we aim at outvaluing opponent then instant kill :)

Hah, don't worry - this is actually the point! Now you can see all the different decks, and decide which sound the most fun for you so wildcards are spent optimally (and I'll take the hit of crafting all at day 1, as I know it helps others a ton). Also, most optimal strat is always waiting 1-2 weeks for main meta decks to emerge, so that you know exactly what you are crafting and how it performs over time :) Hf!🔥🔥 PS. Another deck later today, it might be even cooler 🦥

Addicted to watching your streams, loving the 2 a day; shame it's not 4! Love your advice above, but what if ALL your decks sound the most fun 😊 I'm sitting at 41 commons, 54 uncommons, 21 rares and 8 mythics having just started last month. Haven't built a single card or deck yet as I'm waiting for the meta to settle, but getting very bored spamming the only control Starter Deck - Grave Secrets!

Ok, I'm back at it. This deck has performed well. What has been frustrating is running into the Worldsoul's Rage players who refuse to concede after losing both Rage and Shigeki to Deadly Coverup. They end up delaying and acting like babies, or even worse they have the Dopplegang card and crash the game by some big cast (that has happened twice - bug?).

Very glad to hear man :) Regarding bugs and delaying, tbh I didn't get those situations in my games, but maybe I just got lucky - sucks to hear :/ Gj on extracting their wincons though - that had to hurt! 😂🦥🔥🔥

@@SlothMtg Yeah, the same set of circumstances were occurring the two times the matches froze and the engine gave us draws. I had gotten rid of my opponents' main wincons, but they landed 3 and 4 virtues of strength on the field and thus had hundreds of mana to use to cast the doppelganger spell. This has now happened twice where copying everything on the board has led to the match freezing. I wonder if those players know of this issue, because I wasn't sure why they would continue to play unless they were just trying to be difficult.

I think it's safe to say :) And I'm glad to see it! :) Especially as other colours still got some bombs, so I think there might be plenty of new, interesting decks, hope to maybe even see some mono green in meta :)

@@SlothMtg Yes, I would love a return of mono green! Unfortunately, here in Argentina, we are going through a very difficult economic situation and credit card purchases in dollars are impossible to afford. I won't be able to spend money on the game to be able to try out various decks.

Yep ;( Day 1 was brutal for wallet, so pls like the video :P I try to not think about it anymore - it helps 😂🤷♂️🦥 But looking at comments, it seems a lot of bros noticed the huge amount of crafts for this set - I also felt there's SO MANY cards that I need to craft. At same time, set seems great🔥

Indeed, and the best part, is honestly combining it with tutor - getting 1 perfect card on top of 2 random cards, is insanely satisfying. Combining both modes just makes a huge difference, and early game 3 cards means usually you get healthy landbase and options to defend against nearly everything

I was high when otj came out. I knew I needed rush of dread, but I was high and crafted 4. So I'm really dying to cast avarice, it's so good, like, monoblack can actually generate monoblue levels of value with that card, like a perfect card. If you can't tell, I think invoke despair and meathook massacre did nothing wrong.

I think Invoke was necessary, but with amount of aggro in standard lately - I have second thoughts about meathook🦥 I absolutely respect your take on it :D

I don't know definitive answer yet, but with many new great creatures being outlaws - I think go for the throat should be much better, at least for the time being :) There are few artifacts that go around go for the throat, mostly mindbreakers/wurms/seraphs, but they all aren't big deal usually, at least in my experience

It's Mono Black Day at The Slotherhouse! Out of all the packs I opened on release day, I didn't obtain a single Harvester of Misery. As far as how many, let's just say I had gems rltake the place of my rares. I saved up so many gems for this release. Wizards adding 40+ mythic rares to this set is the one thing about this set that pisses me off the most. Hopefully I can get what I need through the Mastery pass. This deck looks like a lot of fun! You've basically got a plate full of options, and no matter which way you dine on your opponents, they all lead to a satisfied belly full of victory. Thank you for your amazing content, and working so hard to crank out multiple videos each day. You're amazing! 🖤🦥 #mydinnerwithsloth

To be honest, reading comments from Bros - it feels there are more of us with similar feeling, set is pretty harsh on wildcards with all rares/mythics. But at the same time, it seems to be making a huge swing in standard - so it's a worthwhile trade, hopefully! Remember to choose your crafts, and in the end - a lot of fun is grinding cards during seasons - I don't really have this luxury anymore (as I need to showcase decks on day 1), but this is how I always grinded new cards before starting the channel :) Glad you enjoyed the deck - and yeah, mono black is on fire now - such a great card draw is pretty huge with absence of invoke despair. And yeah, options seem quite limitless atm, excited to keep brewing :) Enjoy your dinner my friend!:)
