I have to agree with what others have said,.. spot number 8 looks the best to me for convenience of resources, large open area and great view. We started on Herbivore island and now that we have a few dinos I'll likely boat them up here and start in! thanks Teach!

Number 8 is by far my favourite, with the new ASA i really want to live close to everything. especially without cryos. Since 8 is perfectly in the center of the map it checks that mark. And i can build an amazing inside garden with the ruins, and a huge outside garden for the dinos. its great

Base #7 has a cave entrance if it's the same as ASE. And in official PVE servers, building is blocked near cave entrances.

40,70 is an amazing new spot I found. It's similar to #2 except it has a river with a waterfall right by it. There's another great similar spot a little south. It's the nicest area I've found close to the middle that's not the redwoods

Even while some of these spots are very well known I always like those videos. And now with ASA some very interesting new locations become viable and interesting for a base. One spot that I'm currently checking out is at 35.5 | 64.5 It's not very large but there is access to water and it is close enough to a lot of resources. The only annoying thing is an Argentavis spawn nearby and from time to time one of those might aggro on you or one of the tames.

Teach did you find any places more into the interior of the island to build? One of the problems with ASA is that you don't have cryopods!! Which means you have to travel quite a distance to each of the locations necessary to gather items for the end bosses (caves etc). I was looking for something more towards the middle area. There used to be a fairly level and flat spot just to the east of the large Volcano, and another along the north side of the river that cuts west to east on the north side of the redwoods.

A few things ppl have to be careful of when in pve OFFICIAL, you can not build near explorer notes, supply drops, or in or around caves. Also, if you block access to resources like rare spawns/resources, notes, drops, caves, it is against CoC and devs will wipe you. A player must be able access these things via ground (on foot). Also, if you build in a player spawning spot, and a player gets stuck in your building/base, they can report you and devs will wipe you. I caution on the locations you listed; Spot 1) near player spawn, careful not to build where a player can get trapped, also, I believe there is a drop at this location so you'll have to build allowing access to it via ground, the game will say "you can not build in this location" 2) drop and notes, 4x note/note run; this is literally in the middle of the most op note run that all og players are going to run first thing. The note on the cliff is a 4x note and if you block ground access to this you will be reported, also, build will be limited due to notes and the drop that spawns there, you will get the building block prompt saying "you can not build in this location" in several spots. 3) cliff is good, the beach is a player spawn spot so take caution 4) good spot, watch for drop locations 5) good spot, watch for drop locations, people might become a Karen about the water resources if you destroy/build over them 6) herb island; there are a few drops on this island that will prevent building, also, you can not build a wall around the entire island as this will prevent ground access to the drops, tons of ppl will come here to safely farm resources AND dinos, so expect a lot of traffic that you will not be able to block 7) a titan spawns here so a player can easily agro the titan and destroy your base, just be careful not to piss anyone off, also, is this lava cave entrance? If so you won't be able to build in that entire beach area. 8) pillars and note in center, nope, don't build here, the note will be in the center of your base, you will not be able to build in the center of your base, and you have to allow access to the note via ground so ppl will be running into your base to get the note. 9) good location 10) good spot but caution on destroying the rare beaver dam spawn, ppl will expect to be able to farm them for paste and if you destroy it, it is reportable, devs will destroy the parts of your base that is destroying the spawn. 11) carno island, lots to this one, just like herb island there are a several drops on this island that will prevent building, the cave you will not be able to build in or around, same with the notes, tons of ppl will come here to farm resources (the artifact) AND dinos, so expect a lot of traffic that you will not be able to block, you can not build a wall around the entire island as this will prevent ground access to the drops and resources. 12) good spot, watch for drops 13) good spot, watch for drops 14) good spot, watch for drops Choose wisely when choosing a base location; 1) don't build in player spawns; trapping a player in your base is against CoC and dev wipeable. 2) don't build near or around notes; blocking access to notes via ground is against CoC and dev wipeable. (game will say "you can not build in this location") 3) don't build near or around caves; blocking access to caves via ground is against CoC and dev wipeable. (game will say "you can not build in this location") 4) don't build near or around supply drops; blocking access to drops via ground is against CoC and dev wipeable. (game will say "you can not build in this location") 5) don't build near or around rare resources or dino spawns which will destroy them; since this is the only map available and transfers aren't allowed, people will get very angry if you destroy rare resources/dino spawns like beaver dams, organic poly, giga spawns, spino spawns, thyla spawns, ESPECIALLY if the dino drops items needed for boss fights. Plan base location carefully. Good luck 😊

Your comment about water being hard in new ark: Water is easier than ever. once you place an intake, you can string water tanks to form a network to your base. they have arrows on them to show where they connect while you place them and when the arrow disappears it's out of range. wireless water in new ark is SO Much better than stringin a mile of pipes in old ark.

Fair Warning, the spot at 10:18 is very close to a Titanosaur spawn, which often times ends up with them stuck inside the valley unable to get out. Very useful video tho teach.

That base spot at around the 2 minute mark, the one on the plateau, you can actually get to on a Spino walking on his back legs. I've been hunting drops on my Spino and can get up there pretty easily.

New sub, new player. Your videos are fantastic. I was wondering if you have any advice/videos on how to get a kibble farm going? I want to eventually work up to getting the more desirable tames and i understand that kibble is important for the process

I am very shocked you didn't mention the "Twins" They are south of Beaver Hole (10:15) timestamp if you travel south down the river to the East there used to be two plateaus that stuck up from the river in ASE. In ASA one is still a plateau but the other is now connected to land through a very narrow area. These are ideal to keep dangerous things out. I tend to build on one and use an Argentavis until I have enough materials to expand on to the one with the land bridge. At that point I can build metal gates and defenses and keep the aggressive alphas at bay. There is water nearby for crops, metal mountains on all sides, and you are close to Redwoods, Snow, and all that. The only thing it lacks is ocean access.

my Favorite PvE Main-Base Location is North of the Redwoods, in the middle between Volcano and the other big Metal-Mountain. A bit dangerous (Raptors and Argis most of the time), and a bit far away from Water.

Some of the underwater pearl caves are plenty big for a PVE base. With a Dunky the resources are amazing and lots of space to build. Nearly unlimited metal from the rocks at bottom.

You can use water tanks to extend the range of intakes, so getting water up high is possible

Yo my map is very blurry and low quality, do u know which setting correlates to the map quality?

#5 Isn't new, but it does have a lot of plants now, where as on ASE it was just barren rock. So i can see how it might be harder to recognize. I have built there multiple times on ASE.

ONG base location #7 was where the bois and I built our first base on PVE 337 in 2017 it’s really good

In my opinion, the perfect PVE base has to be in the middle of the map to avoid long trips, with a second base near the sea for water animals. I use to install it at the northern point of redwood forest.

Cant build base #7 on pve official due to the cave.

The first location is great, but spawn proof the lagoon. I've seen people have groups of 15+ megalodon and alphas spawn in there. Making it not so safe.

What is the ocean glitch you mentioned at 14:00? I like this location but if there are exploits then not so much. Thank you

Just finished downloading and logging in - Did you not notice or did i miss you mentioning the number of rocks floating waist high is crazy. never been more disappointed in the first 5 minutes of a game. I have 270 hours in ARK and this was just sad - grapically great looking but a sad implementation

You kept mentioning changes to water. What do you mean by that? I'm on console and haven't had the chance to play it.

Alright before y’all live at the number 8 spot I don’t recommend it there is a bunch of great things but there’s like 20 gigas that spawn there so be careful

yo colleague i build inside a tree with open entrance and exit i put to walls that you could open, and i got banned for 7 days clearly for meshing but i wasnt meshing the tree has a entrance and a exit, so be carefull everyone just spreading awarness

Ark is full of exploits remove the trees the rocks the water and your PC will run fine, and you can see other players Ez use INI Ez Kill in PvP no one can hide from you

Bases that close to ocean has the risk of turret rafts rolling up on them or even meshing into your defenses. Would not recommend
