Thanks for your feedback dear. Appreciate it. I never used Garmin 61 but heard good reviews about that as well. Garmin is number navigation company in the world and it manufactures reliable and durable devices. I am sure your device would last longer.

I have 2 “old” Garmins. One w/ Voice Command, one older withOUT. Both still get me where I need to go, but I DO SOOOO wish the “G” folks would work on their products’ voice RECOGNITION!!! ((But EITHER of my Garmin devices beat the daylights outta the stinking gizmo in my ‘13 Lexus!!! I’d NEVER would have bought it had I known that you canNOT request navigation IN MOTION!! I have to pull to a stop, put it in PARK, and THEN request directions!!! SO MUCH FOR “HANDS FREE”!!!))

Yes. You need to pair the device with the app (Drive Smart) in your phone.

I think it can't be standing freely. There's a suction mount you will get in the box. Fix it on your windscreen and then you can mount the device in it.

Not many people have had much success over the the long term with the suction device from what I gather on y.t. I have 2 older devices, both of which I managed a very stable “mount” by using a black tube sock rolled up and finagled over the end of the suction devices. I then stuff the thing in a cup holder, or into a circular mount lodged in the dash vents. (Different placement depending on which vehicle.)

A suction mount comes in the box with Garmin.

According to 7:02 on the y.t. video: “Garmin Drivesmart 65 and GPS Speedometer” by Tony The Technician, posted on 3/13/20, the thing DOES have “elevation” read out.

Unfortunately it doesn't come preloaded with India maps.

This model has wifi feature, so you can easily update maps without connecting it to the computer.

@@explorewithus7939 The “Higher Ups” sent me a SmartDrive 65 and I am truly enjoying it! Still haven’t seen any 3D Buildings yet but maybe because I haven’t traveled to a city area yet. I am scheduled to drop off a client in Alexandria, Virginia January 13th at hospital, so maybe I’ll see a 3D Building in that area because it’s close to D.C.

I haven't seen the 3D buildings yet. But overall, this is a very good device. Specially the screen size.

@@explorewithus7939 My refurbished unit was no good so the "Higher-Ups" gave me a 65! I like the overall graphics but it isn't always accurate getting me to addresses at the fastest rate.

Maps are free but only updated about twice a year. POIs are subscription.

have you checked your tire ratio and size? that could throw off your speedometer

Check out the video “Garmin Drivesmart 65 and GPS Speedometer” by Tony The Technician. He’s using this gizmo as his speedometer, and at 6:19 in his video, he talks briefly about the speedometer function and says that the AUDIBLE speeding NOTIFICATION can be turned OFF.

It doesn't come with Philippine maps and Garmin stopped selling models that come with it years ago. However, you can still technically use it in the Philippines if you download OpenStreetMaps maps and put it in an SD card. I don't recommend it though since it introduces a lot of issues. You will not have traffic information and routing can be a odd since road infrastracture is different between USA and the Philippines. An example is when I tried loading a Philippine map and started routing, it wanted me to make a left turn off a major thoroughfare but in real life the turn is difficult since you will be turning against oncoming traffic.
