@gogosplat18 to make an actual point though, no, it's not. It's stamina based. A key component of idle games are that they are time gated to progression (which are the types of games I play most) and they have an IDLE mechanic of gathering multiple resources over time while you are away (therefore...the idle part). These resources on most idle games consist of at least 3 things usually - -some type of credit/account xp -a hero xp (essence from afk/ battle data set from nikke/etc etc) -a rarer resource that takes longer to get that helps you through "level caps" that are usually every 20 or 40 or some set number of levels predicated on the characters of the game (Eternal evolution has this called "soul rubilette/ nikke has it "core dust"/ afk arena has it as "dust" -other idle resources vary from game to game and usually unlock through progression whether it be some type of rune for gear or a star fragment for hero talent levels, etc etc Now the idle resource is also dictated on how far you are in the game...most of them have it as the "campaign", or "story", or "world" Basically for them, the higher you are into the game, the more of these idle resources you get per minute/hr/day depending on the resource per game. Another component of idle games though this is not limited to or all encompassing is an 'ascension system' to the characters, which is on the bases of a 'copy' system. As opposed to other gachas in the genre which require you only need 1 of each character and then use other resources to max them.... ...in IDLE gachas there is an RNG gate when it comes to the 'maxing' and is done so with the necessity of 'copies' of the characters through the gacha mechanic of the game. Raid, has none of that, there is no idle resource you gather for progression. Game play in Raid uses a 'stamina system' Where - as long as you have the resource, you can play as much in the game as you want. The campaign system is limited and levels can be replayed over and over to gather resources, unlike idle gachas where you just need to be off and you will gather a set amount of resource over time, based on how far in the campaign you are. And you also can't replay campaign or story stages, you just keep climbing. If you get stuck on a campaign or story stage, you can try and fail over and over again with no loss to resources. In Raid, if you try and fail, try and fail on stages, it still charges your stamina, and when it's out, it's out. Raid uses the Stamina system Idles use the idle system. They're both very different however in the gacha genre they both have similarities they share. They are both great and fun systems as 80% of the games I play use both of these systems, 20% of mine being stamina based, and the other 60% being idle based. There is plenty of information when it comes to game genre, subsets and sub genres, and you can find plenty of it through research online and experiencing these games on your phone. There's way more then I went over here that you can find for yourself and in fact convince yourself if your interested in truly learning the difference between these. Take it from me, Raid is not an Idle game, period.
