lol i remember seeing the "tree shaker" at 11:50 in a ducktales comic 25 ish years ago =D Donald somehow swapped intelligence with gyro gearloose and then retreated to his aunts farm to have more peace for inventing stuff. She wanted him to harvest the fruit trees, so he built that machine. She didn't like it tho, because it hurt the trees

I don’t see how the robot is cheaper than dogs. Now not only humans are being put out of work but dogs are too. Darn same what is happening. All of these self check outs, people should start standing in line to the one or 2 cashiers in the store so some people will be called back to work. And buying from an automated store should be out too but most is so excited about new technology that killing us or taking jobs until it happens to them.

I can see where these are about 50/50 as for actually being successful with farmers. I certainly don’t see a single rancher “giving up” their dogs for a machine. Though many may be an asset? They may want to reconsider marketing strategy. And the “lettuce farm?” Yeah. Yep. Developed for “lettuce” alright. Perhaps metaphorically🤣 Though there are huge benefits to indoor gardening, especially in certain countries- I HIGH-ly doubt that is what this country would use it for. Idk, tomatoes?? Lol

5:00 "It also has a hard drive that self-destructs in dangerous situations." Isn't the hard drive the _last_ thing you want to self destruct? I can understand some kind of emergency shutoff thing to turn the bot off if something malfunctions, or a way to shut it off and track it is someone steals it, but why would you wand the hard drive to fry itself? Are they expecting farmers to store all their porn on this thing and it fries itself if other people try to find it? Are they expecting people to grow drugs with this and it kills itself if it detects police searching the area? Or did the designer just design the robot to constantly break to maximize profits? Farmer: "Oh no, a hurricane destroyed half the town. We need to harvest more food to feed people!" Robot: "Beep. Boop. Dangerous situation detected. Self-destructing to maximize repair service revenue. *Bzzzt*" Farmer: "Oh great, the town is destroyed and my robot worker shorted out presumably due to the hurricane somehow. Guess I'll have to call the robot repairman to fix it so can harvest the crops to feed people." I just don't get how frying the hard drive would do anything to help in a "dangerous situation". You'd think you'd _want_ the hard drive intact to better track what went wrong. Unless it really just some kind of scam like how the guys who make the ice cream machines for McDonald's design them to constantly lock up so the owners have to call repairmen to fix them.

Regardless of the advancement of the machinery farming is still reliant on favourable weather conditions and as climate change is causing more extreme weather events current farming will struggle even more to produce enough food for the human population.
