The highly competitive Austrian Bergrallye series started the 2024 Season at the always spectacular Kitzeck HillClimb (between St. Andra-Hoch) featuring a tremendous entrylist right from the get go. With plenty of Naturally Aspirated screamers, new Turbo Monsters, Cosworth powered Fords, Lancer Evo machinery, Porsche Beasts in NA and Twin-Turbo form and the debut of the latest evolution of Reinhold Taus´ Impreza, now completely clad in Carbon Fiber. And for the very end we left a special mention to the most dramatic moment of the event, that may have spelled the end of season straight away to one of the fans´ favourite drivers... This is how they stacked up when all was said and done:

For me the Astra MK3. You don't see that car often.. and specially that one looks really nice. Of course there was the 993 and Delta... Or the WRC EVO... But the Astra was special. :)

I really liked the Audi that crashed anyway, it's an interesting car. So it gets my vote, my sympathies to driver and team, and hope it will live again.

That’s an ex-official Audi A4 STW, stripped of the original na engine and with a custom built turbo unit shoved in? If so, that was a veeeeery expensive crash. Glad to see the driver’s ok though.

HillClimb is getting real serious We have GT3 Cup Car, TCR Cars, Super Trofeo cars, GT3 cars, and ex-DTM cars in the mix now The grid is getting absolutely brutal

Eine richtig geile Auswahl an Autos. Nette Sauger..nette Turbos... Ich hatte richtig Spaß beim gucken. Aus dem Ton habt ihr auch das beste gemacht... Wäre cool den Audi wieder zusehen... Schöne Karosse.

Rupert Schwaiger is the 70-something race driver who was featured in a video not long ago, doing wheelies in his Porsche, right? Also, Audi's plate said "no limits" - hopefully the rebuild will have "some limits" on the plate 🙃

Time shown is the of the single run each car was doing at that moment. Time posted is official Time at the end of the race with 2 fastest runs of the day combined.
