Electric cars are a waste of money. You're not gonna solve anything. Instead of having electric cars, why don't you clean up your neighborhood? Where there's trash all over the place and garbage all over the place and pot holes and stuff like that. They can't even go three hundred and fifty miles what a waste of money

@@allandson1427 Agree - but if they want to do away with fossil fuel - how are going to power the cars? Newer better battery technology is being developed. Hopefully that will replace LiOn batteries which are worse for the environment.

⁠@@allandson1427I strongly disagree. EVs are definitely way too expensive right now but you can find a few that sit in a comfortable price range. Also cleaning up your neighborhood wouldn’t make much of difference. Fossil fuels are a large cause of air pollution due to the carbon emissions. The range of an EV is debatable as some go 350 and others go smaller distances. However as the charging infrastructure develops you will find places to charge when you want to go on a road trip. Most EV owners charge at home typically overnight and the next morning they are ready to go. What you are saying isn’t bad but you need to look deeper.

Why does the Mercedes and Rolls Royce have front grills when they are electric cars? It has no purpose and just allows dirt to get inside. I'm guessing it will also increase air friction.

There is no such thing as a Zero Emission Vehicle. The real question is, where are the emissions associated with the electric car? Because what you do with an electric vehicle is you don’t eliminate emission, you export them somewhere else. You have to dig up 500,000 LBS of materials to make a single 1000 LB battery. It takes 100-300 barrels of oil to manufacture a battery that can hold 1 barrel of oil equivalent of energy. Just manufacturing the battery can have a carbon debt rate ranging from 10 tons to 40 tons of CO2. And the plans that are in place to increase the use of batteries will require an increase in production of minerals like lithium, cobalt, zinc. Demand for those minerals will increase between 400% and 4000%. There isn’t enough mining in the world to make enough batteries for that many people for their cars.

None of these cars will be affordable to most car buyers. The real story is which cars will be $25,000 or less and have fast charging. These are the cars that will make the EV car market explode!

It will take a few years for Tesla to have their affordable M2 sub $25K car on the market. In the meantime the price on the Tesla M3 is getting quite low

At some time, manufacturers/marketing personnel involved in the BEV industry will have to change their motto re: climate change and greenhouse gases when it comes to sale/production of these automobiles. We would hope that with lowered pricing for batteries and increased range plus the advent of more affordable electrical power that persons would consider the economy of use of these vehicles. In the end, that is what matters MOST when a purchase of significant size is made, i.e., the personal ROI. Only a very small number of persons will purchase expensive automobiles to save the earth, really. The argument is quite plainly silly and not likely to provide the switch from ICEs to BEVS. Economy and utility will be all that matters.

You're right that it's a significant purchase. Cars are the 2nd biggest purchase that people make in their lives. But, financial considerations are secondary. Humans have escaped the Malthus Trap. They have more than enough money to purchase food and shelter. So, cars are a way to splurge, showing off wealth and status. As a result, the government needs to force humans to buy cars that environmental while still satifying the human desire to show off. If you really want the truth. A Lexus and a Honda are really similar in effectiveness. Both are comfortable. Both will get you from A to B. The price difference is all glitter. Truly unnecessary.

Don’t you just hate it when you read emotional inaccurate posts. There is a large battery recycling industry ramping up in the U.S. and Europe. See Redwood Resources and Tesla to name too. Recycling recovers a high percentage of the raw materials which have the same properties as mined elements. The recovery process is Ecco friendly and economical. It’s estimated in about 20 years the need for mined resources will drop substantially .

@@GamingTrivia1113 If there is bus riding demand, there will be buses. The American taxpayer is footing the bill either way. Except you still have to pay for an ev out of pocket too. A bus ticket is much cheaper and accomplishes the same thing.

We're talking about eco-friendly cars, there are waste of money. You can't even go 350 miles on a charge. Gas powered cars can go 600 miles, and they can gas up anywhere they want. And it takes five minutes to gas your car up in seven hours to charge your car. They don't solve anything and people know it people are gullible

hyundai-software sucks Dodge-software sucks and range is horrific acura -battery integrity is horrible Buick is a joke-hilarious mercedes is just extremely overpriced in comparison to Tesla and range isn't true to what they claim. vinfast is horrible software yet again and will have 10s of recalls caddy... LMAO Porsche-again decent but extremely overpriced and range is severely lacking. Ram -looks cool but really that's all it is. Expect to be disappointed long term. EV open jeep-not practical and software is insanely horrible. polestar-good but overpriced by 200% for what you get-tesla a better option. RR-yup overpriced by 400% There's only one real game in town for a true decent ev with chargers and software.... Tesla.
