Top 15 Roller Coasters in Spain (2023)

Spain currently has 55 different roller coasters. Their biggest and best coasters mainly come from three parks- PortAventura, Parque de Atracciones de Madrid, and Parque Warner Madrid. And the country’s lineup got a lot more interesting in 2023 with the opening of Uncharted at PortAventura and Batman Gotham City Escape at Parque Warner. So in this video, I will rank the country’s top 15 roller coasters.

My list is exactly the same as yours (literally every spot is the same) except I switch Batman Gotham city escape and shambhala (since I love b&m hypers)

Canobie Coaster would say: Number 9: Furius Baco at PortAventura. This is a very unique launched coaster from Intamin. This is a wing coaster with a hydraulic launch. And that launch is a powerful one between the heavy trains and uphill slope. Then the layout stays low to the ground, allowing the coaster to maintain its blistering speed start to finish. The dip after the launch has nice airtime as well. Then there's an inline twist towards the end with incredible hangtime. I just wish this ride were smoother. The directional changes can chop your neck further back in the train. Then the edge seats are very bumpy. But a front row ride on an inside seat is...

Great video. I'm delighted to have 12 of those amazing coasters done. Shambhala is my number 1 coaster overall, but GCE is an amazing and incredible coaster.

Canobie Coaster would say: Number 14: TNT Tren de la Mina at Parque de Atracciones de Madrid. This is a Gerstlauer family coaster. The ride starts off slow, especially because the chain lift slows to a crawl at the end. But the second half is really good. The turns and pullouts have solid force to them. Then there is even a small pop of airtime. And the layout weaves its way through some caves and structures to enhance the speed and also hide...

Ive been to portaventura but not the other parks. If i had an extra day in spain I would have gone to Parque Warner to ride gotham city escape

Another hello from Barcelona here. Great video, as usual. Love your in depth reviews and cinematography (unusual views, steady camera, great editing). Totally agree with you in everything. And I am happy to see Superman at parque Warner (often overlooked) up there. In my opinion the best B&M looper in both the sit down and floorless categories.

I don't know why my 2019 rides on Superman were so poor, but it redeemed itself on my return visit.

Canobie Coaster would say: Number 15: Stampida at PortAventura. This is a dueling wood coaster from CCI. The two tracks are close-by for much of the experience, so the racing aspect is well executed. I also like the convoluted course and the laterals on the turns. Then there are a few airtime pops in the first half as well. However, this ride does have two issues. One, the pacing. A trim on the first drop saps the ride of much of its speed, so you're crawling through the second half. Two, this ride is bumpy, particularly further back in the train. So if I ask you, but what was your bigger issue with the ride, the bumpiness or the pacing? What do you think?

In this video, there were no: Vertigo at Parque de Atracciones de Madrid Tomahawk at PortAventura Correcaminos Bip Bip at Parque Warner Madrid And see in RCDB, but there are Vekoma SLCs in Spain as well. I like them.

BTW Red Force as a 344' drop with a mere 90 degree twist to the left before descending most of the drop that maxes out at 90 degrees instead of a 270 degree twist to the right. However: Shambhala has a 254' drop making it merely slightly more than the half way point between the minimum Hyper and minimum Giga. The only hyper coaster anywhere near a Giga is Hyperion, since it has a 269' drop, and there is NO coaster yet with a drop bigger than Hyperion and smaller than any giga coaster. But I'm sure Shambhala is good at the tummy tickling sensation, which is only hard to feel anymore due to tolerance. I admit that's sad, being my favourite coaster sensation, but that doesn't mean I'll quit being a coaster enthusiast any time soon, even at my ripe old age of 54. ;)

I love how Red Force's drop just does the 90 degree twist. It makes the airtime better.

@eCoaster I know. I forgot to mention that, and got distracted by drops that don't twist at all. But it looks better than TTD, TTD2 and K.K.s drop having much less of a twist and more time for a straight 90 degree drop. Fun fact: Shambahla and Candymonium tie as the steepest B&M non giga hypers but the former has a drop 38' taller with those long staggered seating trains.

Is Terra Metica even open still? All I've heard is that their RCCA coaster (whose name I can't remember) hasn't operated for a while and I don't know if that's because the park as a whole is closed or something else.

Para mí la mejor invertida de Vekoma. Te la recomiendo.//Hello, I'm from Spain and I thank you very much for this video. I completely agree with you but in the Seville amusement park there is an exceptional Vekoma invert among others since it is strangely soft. For me the best investment from Vekoma. I recommend it to you.

Amazing set of coasters! Now, if you were to do a ranking, where you combine, coasters and cuisine, would you say that Spain's coasters and food combined would be better for weekend planners, or would you go Germany or Poland with the hearty Polish cuisine with the glorious rides of Energylandia? I'm gonna say the US would win the food/park combo with Japan, Denmark, Germany, Poland and Spain in no particular order rounding out the list.

Stampida. TWO-HOUR LINE for either side. Line barely moves at all. You get to the station and see why: train after train is filled with fast pass people while the cattle are made to wait indefinitely. A disgusting park. If it didn’t have the absolutely divine Shambhala and nice theming in general, I’d hate the place. I can’t wait for a new, uncorrupt company to buy the place - please!!!
