Jim Johnston created the soundtrack to so many iconic Wrestlers, and so many childhoods. He probably contributed to WWF/WWF's distinctive brand as top of professional wrestling just as much as any single person because once his music hit, you knew it was one of your favorite superstars. He helped the Wrestlers' brand themselves and make them superstars with his music. I'm so sad to hear of his departure. He was the best in the business, and created some of my favorite themes that reached well beyond professional wrestling and sports entertainment.

I won't be surprised if more wrestlers ask for their release.

On Shane McMahon - Today’s wrestlers are not what they once were 20 years ago. Let’s face it. Most don’t have the charisma to talk their way out of a paper bag. Today’s talent is lackluster to say the least and looking at how a lot of the people I talk to today about the WWE, I’d say I’m not far off the mark on this. Many of us continue to support WWE out of nostalgia and in hopes that one day, we’ll see a return to creativity and greatness in the WWE. So for a performer like Shane to come in and all of a sudden overshadow some on the current roster of the WWE, I’d say, WWE is only doing what’s good for business. If the contracted players are feeling like they actually have to be competitive, I’d say; “yeah, duh”. You have to “Wow” the audience, day in and day out. It’s like these professionals feel like they shouldn’t have to work hard or be innovative or highly creative in order to be where they are today. Shane grew up on the business, he KNOWS the business and he seems to know what fans what and he provides that. If the other wrestlers can’t see what he’s doing and why or how, then maybe they don’t deserve their spots on the roster to begin with. Wrestling and WWE needs that certain “POP” that it hasn’t had for a very, very long time now, and if someone’s providing that, they shouldn’t be attacked for it, they should be applauded. Today’s wrestlers could learn a thing or two from Shane MacMahon.
