Cool to see this is an active account. I couldn't find a better way of contact regarding my inquiry so I will start by leaving a comment here on this most recent upload... I have been a long-time fan of FBI Files. I remember the days when Discovery Channel had decent content; when I was a kid there were nights when they would play FBI Files and the New Detectives w/i the same lineup, it was great. Long story short, it wasn't until a decade or so later I finally watched that HBO series "The Wire". After having re-visited many of the FBI Files episodes I recognize so many of the actors from The Wire were actually in the reenactments depicted in the FBI Files. I can't find any information from google searches that help shed light on this connection. Can anyone chime in? TY! :D

@brianallison1913
@brianallison1913 2 жыл бұрын
The reason you don't get much time is because your stealing something (money)that is made out of thin air so technically it doesn't exist. However when you try to create the same thing out of thin air(counterfeiting) is when you get in some pretty deep water as far as trouble goes. Basically, they don't want you counterfeiting what they have already counterfeited. Actually while loosely true imo there are many factors involved to determine punishment. Did you have a crew of people, did you use threats of violence or blatantly wield a weapon, were you masked, what crimes committed in the past, etc. This could range from 3 or so years to life in prison.

So far I've learnt from the shows Bank robbery is the easy part because bank employees are trained to comply, avoiding dye packs, trackers etc depends on absolute control ,getting away from the scene requires planning and pinpoint timing and the hard part is legitimising the cash and using it in such a way as to not draw attention to yourself and avoiding the possibility of witness identification and co operating informants....

46:56 Sentences ranging from 15-20 years for stealing $30 million. I've been working 15-20 years and aint seen $800,000. $8million is a cool wages for 15 years 😎 . Not exactly a deterrent

There are the few who are adrenaline junkies that need a continuous fix such as robbing banks but unfortunately for the robbers, the modus operandi and greediness are always their downfall.

Gonna add to my earlier comments. Though obviously bank robberie like other crimes have to be taken very seriously, obviously its necessary to solve robberies. However, as I said in an earlier comment, I cant ever get excited about catching these guys, so long as no one is murdered. One point I failed to make before is that part of what keeps me from ever saying, "yes! They got thise bad people and retrieved the completely insured cash that no individual actually was robbed of" is the fact that such massive resources are employed by the government in order to catch the ones that they catch. Not that they shouldnt employ those resources, its just that I hardly see law enforcement as having something to brag about when they solve a case. Especially in the modern era, when the FBI pulls out all the stops they are almost guaranteed to come out on top. I guess Im saying that watching a show about a massive government organization hunt some pipsqueak robber just isnt all that compelling.Its a bit of a mismatch, it seems to me.

Well as other comments have suggested, the 2 main rules we learned from this are don’t get addicted to the crime and don’t tell a soul about what you did no matter how badass it makes you feel
