I even tried to befriend him and treat him the same way like the others despite him creeping me out. Then he left randomly and left me a letter saying how much my town sucked and how happy he is to leave. I was probably happier than him though. I would've actually liked him if he wasn't being shitty about my town.

The house that was shown is a starter house. Your first villagers have a basic home as they travel to live at different islands their houses become more their personalities.

yeah i know don't worry, i was basically just informing others that was the starter house.

I'm really hoping that they add a feature via patch that lets us have the ability to change starter villagers houses to their proper ones. I got an ACNH edition switch last week, so I started a second island. 3rd NMT I get Zucker, then on my second attempt (the next day) on my second ticket I get Merangue. They both have really cool houses if you get them post first 5. I mean I guess if I can get space on my first island, I can move them there, and then back again if I want to, I'm not totally stuck. I don't want to time travel though, so it's not a fast process by any means. Lets just hope enough people make noise about this issue. I can't see it being too much of a problem to implement their proper interiors once the player is so far into the game. The worries of them upstaging you really are not an issue once you make some money and have spent some time in the game. And besides I'd rather be upstaged than have a unique villager in a basic house. It's such a let down. I mean are we supposed to actively hunt out ones we don't want first, so we can kick them then begin the proper search later? I wasn't planning on getting either of those 2, but I wasn't going to re-roll them as they're both uniques. honestly it seems like a huge oversight, that was probably only ever allowed to exist in order to sell amiibo cards) it's the one thing in this game that I actually think is poor design. I mean yeah there are plenty of QOL things that could be added, but the whole thing with "starter houses" is a terrible idea, since they never change. I'd be fine with it if they actually got their proper houses later on.

Agreed, Coco is defs one of the best villagers! She's just much more interactive than other villagers with the same (normal) personality. I've noticed she can dance, sing, and interact with the items such as instruments that you leave outside. As opposed some of my other normal personality villagers who only dance and explore.
